Is anyone else concerned about the new Uloric data and risk of death? 7 deaths out of 6000 patients is quite a lot, and they said it is “statistically significant.” Could it be that perhaps patients weren’t existing cardiac patients and they probably would’ve died anyway? Either way, it’s not good.

Not good at all. I'm very concerned. Sounds like it might make a CV event worse. For business this could get out of control especially these days where news travels very fast. I'm getting asked about it already.

Wether it actually killed them or not is irrelevant for business. Data says more deaths, and that is now the perception. Personally I would like to know if a product I was confidently promoting is killing people.

Yes, and bad PR kills products.

So how bad is this? If you work here, you got the Uloric emails and the conference call is today.

Conference call: BJ paying 100% IC regardless of performance because of the findings. Let’s all think, are they going to pay everyone regardless of performance for very long?

Through March. My guess is no more detailing Uloric starting April.

Two down in April. Oh what will replace these for the interim? The answer will be posted on Friday. But feel free to play the guessing game for now.

And/or dex. Could shift people around, but also could just lose 30% of us. I guess that is the million dollar question.

Wow! What a product line up we have; not to mention a pipeline the size of a village of gnats!

    1) We have the only branded PPI on the market with horrible managed care coverage.
    2) We’ve got an antidepressant, that’s only co-promoted and not fully ours, in which most Primary Care doctors don’t care about the differences and don’t really treat depression properly.
    2) We’ve got a CIC & IBS-C product that isn’t novel in any way, shape or form, but is part of Sucampo’s sale, so that’s probably gone soon.
    4) We’ve got 2 gout products that will most likely go away for all intents & purposes.

A lot to be proud of folks! If we all can’t see this completely dying situation; shame...SHAME!!!

Yes, but anybody running a pharmaceutical company these days will tell you the hard work is already done if you have an FDA approved product that you can sell, co-promote, or market for any extended period of time. Yes, issues exist, but you work through them and make $$$$$ with the products you have. Truth is there are not many acquisition options out there at this point in time that provide profitable revenue streams. Bottom line, quit whining about issues and be glad you have products to sell, and are still in the game! There are no guarantees in life, it's all about perspective. If you have a fix, share it. If you have a better option available, move on and find it elsewhere. But please don't stay and complain about everything in sight, it makes YOU smell bad! Read your post again, look how you sound......Seriously?
