what happened w the DC rep? Why so much turnover?

Poor management. Constantly failing initiatives. A comp plan that changes multiple times a year in the wrong direction, so less money. I made $35,000 less 2016 than I did 2015, and worked harder. Aging injectables. Nothing new. Having to sell Ultherapy as injectable reps, and the technology is horribly inconsistent.

I personally know of at least 8 reps who are looking, and some who are doing very well. I heard one of our top 10 just resigned as well. Avoid it if you are currently in something you can remotely tolerate.

Not just in DC but many positions around the country. If ur already in the aesthetic market now then coming here is 'downgrading'. Not like it used to be. Not exactly sure what happened in that territory but I would think it's more competitive there and maybe reps leaving for better companies or products.

I thought there was already a rep there

I heard the rep that resigned who was in the top 10 was doing very well with his injectable goals but not so well on their transducer goal. With the way the compensation plan is, this person was taking a 25% hit on their commission, hence the reason they left! The need to fix the comp plan before more people jump ship.....

Hello? The turnover rate is astronomical....they aren't changing. That's why they lose top talent. Fear of change and not valuing employees is the Merz way!

I agree 100%!!!!!!! Unreal that reps in the top of the rankings are leaving....complete sh*t show!

What's the target comp? I heard they increased it over last year. Is it over $25k per qtr?

Need opinion.. Open positions in my territory for Neuro and the Aesthetics side. What's the aesthetics sales calls like?

Do Aesthetic reps need signatures or is it strictly purchase orders from the offices?

Are managers required to do field coach rides in the Aesthetics division or are the reps on their own?

What's bonus like at Merz Aesthetics (mid to top reps)?? I'm in derm now (selling general derm topicals) but was told by my DM the company is downsizing January next year!

Any additional info helps. I have 4 yrs in Derm and thinking about going into Aesthetics. My wife and all her friends pay a good amount for antiaging products and never complain about the amount of $ spent at their dermatologist offices so maybe I need to get in this market.

    Thanks

You have almost no chance of being successful with a pharma background.

How do you say so? I came from a pharma background and doing quite well here. You act like aesthetic reps do open heart surgery.. lol, loser.

    So true. Settle down superstar.
A pharma rep can learn to deal samples for orders just like you do. It’s not that hard.

I would say that 80percent or more of the sales force has pharma background.

Maybe that’s why our market shares suck compared to Allergan and Galderma?

Allergan and Galderma are professional companies that know how to do aesthetics.
Merz is trying hard but tripping every step of the way.

what can Merz do? Our products suck. We can spend all we want on models and ad boards in Canada, eventually we need a decent product to sell.
We’ll continue to get goons to work here like the two new ones in NJ.
