Any of us still employed actually working? I've lost all motivation, except to get out of this shithole

Great post. If by working you mean spending all my time looking for a job, then yes I'm working my ass off

How can anyone work knowing what Avanir did to some very good people who worked their asses off and were loyal to a company that cast them off like garbage? If you think that any of the people who got cut were deadbeats, you’re wrong and in denial, just count the P-Clubs between all of them. Seniority and performance meant squat, they picked their favorites, got rid of the people who could hurt them (stupid move) and slapped the each other on the back about how smart they were. They hired an entire sales force that they shouldn’t have; no offense to the PNams but expansion was short sighted and now you have people out of work that have been here years longer than their psych counterparts, it’s obscene. But that’s ok, we all just became numbers months ago and a few of us who got “displaced” are going to have a lot to tell the special investigators for the DOJ, Los Angeles attorneys and other interested parties when the subpoenas start rolling in and trust me, they will start rolling in. So enjoy your brief hiatus from worrying about layoffs and use the holiday break to update your resume because the ship is going down one way or another.

Look, we all feel terrible for anyone who lost their jobs. I think it could have been anyone of us. Please don't take offense, but to say, 'how can people work knowing what Avanir did to good people' is a bit extreme. This isn't exclusive to avanir, any pharma company that does layoffs gets rid of good people, like you said we're nothing but numbers to them. Now there are a million other reasons why people should be looking 1. Is them being a bunch of crooks and I don't see avanir existing few years from now

Oh sweetie, you are so naive. They singled out the most tenured employees and tried to make it look random. It is so clear that they wanted to get rid of anyone they could scapegoat when the DOJ investigation concludes and charges are made public. Then they can point the finger at all the former employees and say it was dealt with. But the DOJ doesn’t care if those people are here or not, they care about the wrongdoings of the company and the current Avanir will be held accountable and soon after will no longer exist.
