The studies comparing Linox to MDT and SJM leads are quite sneaky. Fluoroscopy was only performed on Biotronik leads and not others. Furthermore, Biotronik Linox leads were connected to other manufacturers devices, whilst other manufacturers kept the same device and lead combinations. If a Boston lead was connected to a Medtronic box it would also pick up 'short V-V intervals' which most studies base lead failures upon. This deliberate mismatch of device lead combinations and selective screening for only Linox shows how loaded and bias these 'studies' are, almost totally transparently created by competitors for people like yourselves who clearly couldn't critique a study and rely on sensationalist headlines. No intelligent scientific basis of discussion on this thread unfortunately.

Okay..... for shits and giggles let's give you the argument that mixing cans and leads could result in inappropriate electrical sensing of signals - I can't say I agree with that argument b/c a can does not know what lead it's hooked up to but let's go with it for fun. Now, as for true lead failure i.e.; eternalization or conductor failure... The can has nothing to do with that. Both Riata and Fidelis leads were hooked up as mixed systems. Now, I don't have exact statistics but I'll take a guess that the failure rates are not significantly different based upon what can the lead is hooked up to.

And...... IF someone was going to use a MDT or BSX can then why in the hell would they use a BTK lead? Yeah, yeah, yeah..... we've all heard it - 'Because we've never had a lead recall.' Okay, fine. That is actually not a false statement but it's an old worn out statement.
