This is a legitimate question. Can someone explain to me how Sunovion can charge sales reps $55 per pay period for personal company car usage given that we are suppose to pay out of pocket for the gas we use on personal trips? I understand that the IRS wants us taxed for personal mileage, but that dollar amount would be considerably less than $55 a month. I have asked around and I can not find another company that has the policy of of charging AND having reps pay for their personal usage gas. Not trying to complain, I would just like to understand.

Why are you paying out of pocket for personal use?

You are technically supposed to pay for gas while on vacation. Years ago, I was on maternity leave and didn’t know I had to pay for gas when on leave. I was contacted by fleet and it was pulled from my paycheck to reimburse them.

The question is not about paying for gas genius. The question is about being charged for personal use when I am told that I need to pay for the gas myself. I record the personal mileage, so I am paying taxes on it, then I am paying for the gas myself, so why am I being charged for personal use? The taxes on the personal miles that I drive would be a fraction of what we are paying every year out of our paychecks.

And the answer is, we don't pay for our own gas, whether it is personal use or not, GENIUS. It's called a gas card, use it, you don't pay for it.
The taxes you pay are for that gas that you're not supposed to be paying for, as well as the personal use of the vehicle you are driving, and also do not pay for. It's called tax. Welcome to being an adult.

We only use the card for all gas. Don't know who is stupider you or your manager.
