HSS are being paid on MBO’s on Synagis. I’m sure that will motivate them

The HSS on my team can’t even get into half of her hospitals because no one likes her.

Same here with the HCS. She will be rewarded by the bonehead DSM.

Why would DM reward anyone for being thrown out of accounts?

What is the difference between getting thrown out of an office and never gaining access to a single physician or even an influential nurse but continuing to fake calls to suggest otherwise? There is so much fake activity going on in AZ that if they ever flagged all of the phony calls over 90% of us would be eliminated. We have people going to COE this year who haven't made an honest full sales presentation in years.

HSS is a farce - now more than ever. They had a chance to make an impact and blew it

And you don’t think that happens with other pharma companies? Stop the bitchin

Of course it does which is the main point. This job and industry has nothing to do with sales. It has been a complete joke for a long time. The only jobs more worthless and valueless than the sales rep is the manager's role. Someone paid to coach people to sell in an environment that won't permit actual selling to take place.
There is no access, no interest, and even our customers will tell you that they write what they are told to write.

The customers are the PBM and the MCP. If there is limited coverage that is reflective of the failure of brand leadership and not the failure of field sales. We did not have a voice and our customers do not have a choice. How does brand attempt to overcome this? Throw more money and more reps at the prescribers? Who does not like a free lunch and free coupons? So happy to be gone from this abusive culture. Every day I got up to go to work and I questioned my sanity. Have never been part of such a mind fuck of a culture as Astra. Took six years to realize the problem was not me. The problem was the culture. The lack of leadership. The behaviors nurtured by bad managers.

The entire merger of Zeneca and Astra was a disaster that most didn't see coming. Astra had been through it before and was much more cynical but most Zeneca people were naive and believe the bullshit about harmony and a team building a new culture together. This made the best and brightest of Zeneca vulnerable to the internal political sniping that the Astra people had mastered. The only way this could have worked would be to get rid of all senior leadership from both companies and start fresh. Instead we ended up with the worst from both and a toxic brew of backstabbing, favoritism, and reverse discrimination by pushing a bunch of diversity programs at lower levels of the company that was confusing at best and corruption of genuine corporate values at worst. This gave the worst characters from Astra and Zeneca the cover they needed to push their own careers at the expense of their peers and their direct reports. And now most of the original cast of despots are gone but we have succeeded by replacing them with clones.

You are absolutely correct, however, we could place blame firmly on leaderships shoulders for that. The HSS's do not have FSIP information, weightings, direction or what products they will be carrying from quarter to quarter, or up to date data. They are not the magic bullet, but when they do great things everyone benefits, and the rest of the field still needs to do their job and get off the tit of everyone else. If everyone just did an honest days work with support, TRUE support from HQ, this company would be awesome. When Hudson was here, this was a great place with a fine culture. We have fallen from there and there is absolutely no morale. It would just take a few changes and a different way of thinking but, AZ could be a phenomenal place to work again.

Hopefully the call goes like----- We are unable to quantify what the hell you guys do since you consistently tell your counterparts that you aren't in selling roles. And since that seems to be the overriding consensus we have determined that the value you bring to the role is well below the ROI, so we have decided to discontinue the role. If there is an open territory close to you, you are more than welcome to interview for the position. Please know that since you were given significant bump ups in salary when you assumed the role, if you were able to assume that open position, you will brought in at no more than 110% of the MRP which means some will have to take a cut to stay with AZ. For those that don't make the cut, the severance package will be 12 weeks w/ 6 months of continuing medical coverage before COBRA kicks in. Any questions?

Says a field based employee that spends more time at home, on Facebook or shopping then doing anything productive. HSS are saving and helping people have better qualities of life with our products pulling through initiatives and putting patients first and opening access for you, now get out there and take care of the patients.... That is what HSS's do on a daily basis with no accolades or black and white, but only functioning in the grey space. you are just jealous
