What an accomplishment, very telling. To achieve this level of sleaziness you must have some loose morals to say the least.
The sad thing is Salix has great drugs that docs love, otherwise - everything else sucks.
    Why?
Why price gouge and sell less, there is a tipping point where the volume from the higher volume of sales will balance out the lower WAC and help improve managed care.
Am i the only one that see's how easy this is?
The turnover will continue, the toxic environment will continue and nothing will change-dissapointing.

Never in my career have I worked in an environment that so blatantly puts the needs of the patient at the bottom of the heap behind bonus dollars and President's Club trips. All we hear about from our manager and RD is how much money we can make by exploiting sick patients and price gouging through the insurance companies and specialty pharmacy. So many compliance violations its not even funny. This company is a boiler room cesspool. I'm interviewing and there are other ethical companies out there.

This might be “old news” to us, but it will be new news to a lot of office staff/ providers. I was at a lunch the other day when one of the girls was watching net flicks on her break. This documentary will rehash what a shitty, shady, & selfish company Valeant is. I

My manager & his whore (on the team) were getting kick backs from one specialty pharmacy not that long ago.

There has been a lot of shady shit in the northeast for years with specialty pharmacy and people pushing scripts to one place. Plenty of off the books dinners and entertainment paid for by the specialty pharmacy reps with Salix people tagging along. Can’t argue with their success though.

100% correct. And compliance turns a blind eye because, you know, money, money, money, money.

I’m told not to tell doctors/ their staff about their “patient assistance program”. Why bc we don’t get credit For the script & they don’t want to give free meds out to DYING people.

If someone is that poor that they qualify for PT assistance program, give them the damn meds- I don’t need the credit - why? Bc Regardless I won’t get “credit” bc the aren’t going to pay for a $1200-$1500 script & for the love of god, these people with HE are dying.

    Cold cold company.

Agree. However, there is NOBODY manning the phones at our patient assistance program. It's a phony number that leads nowhere. I have customers who waited on hold more than an hour only to get disconnected and never talk to a person. It's a sham. We get kicked in the teeth every day by doctors complaining about coverage and cost. Funny, none of those conversations sound like the role plays we heard our VPs do on the conference call last month.

pfizer, merk, AZ, GSK, Novo etc. all let pts know (on their commercials) of their pt assistance programs. It’s sad that a company that charges OVER 2k for 60 xifaxan can’t help out the dying poor. $1700 for Relistor. Let’s just stick it to the insurance company, forget being pt focused.

I hope Valeant sinks and burns.

Good RX - love the part “not covered by most ....”.Josh & upper management- this is the truth! We hear it all day long ... I can only get so many pulled through. Salix/ Valeant should be on American Greed too!

Rifaximin (Xifaxan) is an expensive drug used to treat traveler's diarrhea and irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea. It is also used to prevent hepatic encephalopathy, a brain disorder that can occur due to severe liver disease. This drug is more popular than comparable drugs. There are currently no generic alternatives to Xifaxan. It is not covered by most Medicare and insurance plans, but some manufacturer and pharmacy coupons can help offset the cost.

But, but, but Nicola and Josh said the managed care objections are a myth. We are covered everywhere with no copay. Didn't you hear all the swagger and professional arrogance in her role play on the conference call?

My manager pushes one specialty pharmacy over all the others. This manager has told offices to stop using certain specialty pharmacies because " they don't have any funds available to make sure that the patient pays as little as possible." It sounds like a load of BS to me and the offices dread seeing this manager. Its sad.

Nothing matters but PC ranking and bonus payouts. If your manager is tops in the rankings, and this is their strategy then they will be rewarded.

A lot of docs hate Salix since Valeant bought them out. Everyone knows Valeant is a greedy scum bag company. Nicola, Josh and Mark are poor leaders and frauds! Nicola banged her way to the top.
