One of the stupidest buys I have ever seen in Pharma history.
Everyone in the US hates Monsanto with a vengeance. Tons of commercials on TV by lawyers looking to help (sue) anyone who has suffered health problems using Roundup and on and on... Laying off tons of people world wide to get the billions of dollars it requires for this purchase, so much more. This is a dying move for a dying company. For sure.

The Monsanto purchase will dramatically change the landscape of the Bayer AH Division. You can ultimately kiss the CAP unit goodbye. Not generating enough money to sustain the business unit especially with no pipeline. Lack of resources and budget will make 2018 a certain failure for this BU. Sorry to watch this happen to so many good people.
My advice: if you aren’t close to retirement, get out now while you can get a head start on the others.

Yes, I agree. The Monsanto purchase is a bad move. Shows this division cares more about seeds than animals. Bad news for the CAP BU for sure. Significant lack of any promotional dollars for anything so simple as a promotional brochure. Trying to revive older products with no budget dollars to help promote. Nothing in the pipeline whatsoever. Hiring freeze in place after a 30% layoff of the sales force last summer. Horrible Sr. Leadership and no future to look forward to. Time to move on folks.
