The current solution is to go through Avella specialty pharmacy. Have you tried that?

  3. Dear anonymous,
Thanks for responding.. I have not tried Avella.. have never even heard of them. Thanks for the advice and I will look into Avella today.

  4. I AGREE!!!!!!!!! have been trying for 4 weeks, i have called every single pharmacy..they told me it is the manufacturer. What am i supposed to do with the pain? I can't handle this pain anymore. I am limited on alternatives. no wonder why people get street drugs and turn into addicts. now i understand how it all starts. this is ridiculous!!! WE ARE SICK AND WE NEED HELP AND ANSWERS why does no one care?

I have not been able to get my script either.. I'm prescribed 100mg ER. So I called the pharmacy and asked for the strengths they do have & I have asked my Dr to change my strength. We'll see what happens when I try to get new strength filled. Just an idea for you.

CVS has had my prescription for Nucynta ER 100mg for a week. They told me that the supplier was out that they would call back in a week. Just heard from her today. Supplier has no release date on the medication. They asked them to check in again in another week. I ran out a week ago & have been dealing with the pain since.

I have been on Nucynta 200 er for almost 2 years. I can't find any meds anywhere in my state. they need to stop with the gouging of the cost of the meds and allow someone who can keep up with demand produce it and a generic instead of 1800 a month it costs me for these meds.
I am freaking out as I watch the last of the meds that I have get closer to being gone. the withdrawals scare the shit of me. I am worried that I won't be able to function.

The drug strength of 100 mgs is on backorder until Feb 28th. My pain mgmt doc prescribed morphine ER due to no Nucynta available at time of refill (Jan 30th). The previous month my pharmacist found one bottle at a specialty pharmacy 20 miles away. Last one in San Antonio.

This is not the first time this has happened, probably won't be the last. The drug won't be in generic form until 2024. So check ahead of time and ask your doctor for an alternative if the shortage isn't resolved.

This is probably not the forum to ask about Nucynta backorders since the employees that were responsible for Nucynta have all lost their jobs right before Christmas and this company refuse to release the severance pay that was promised to its employees. Not only are you the patient left out in the cold by this company, but the employees as well.

    Switch to Gralise and tramadol

Really? Someone is giving medical advice without knowing the patient’s full history? Sensitivity, Disrase state, nothing-and why prescribe Gralise if the patient doesn’t meet the indication. Still selling off label? This company loves to rack up charges. cha ching let that cash register ring.

Hey all I have some info that might be helpful. First, Depomed no longer owns Nucynta. They sold rights to the drug when the shortage began to Collegium. If you call the company, they have a locator service to find the medication at a pharmacy near you and it actually works! They also have a mail order option, which is supposed to be the most reliable way to get Nucynta ER at the moment. It took me a week of frantic phone calls to find this info, so I thought I would put a comment here for others needing this med. Nucynta is a miracle drug for me, with great pain control and almost no side effects. I just spent almost six months getting off more potent opioids, and I was terrified I would have to switch back to meds with less pain control and horrible side effect, ruining the long hard work of getting off them. Hope this info helps someone!

Thank you for the update on an option in which to try and find the medication! I have been a long time user and, as for many, it is the only medication that gives me relief without all the side effects of other pain meds. My Dr has been trying all kinds of other combinations to get me through the backorder but nothing has been working like the Nucynta. It is awful how the company went about dealing with this and leaving patients on their medication with no alternative. My pharmacy (Walgreens) has gone above and beyond trying to help and find me whatever was left of the medication to keep me going as long as possible. However, with the manufacturer continuing to push out the availability date every month there isn’t much the pharmacies can do. I will contact Commegium today and see what they say. Thank you!!!!
