This article will discuss the Toyota Production system that has innovative management techniques and identify the best practices to determine which could be implemented to improve the hospital workforce. Different management techniques will be explained as to how they can improve the hospital workforce and see if these techniques could be enforced in a hospital and enhance customer and employee satisfaction.

How Toyota’s Innovative Management Techniques Can Improve Hospitals

Toyota seems to be using a workforce development technique, a growth management technique, and a personnel management technique because their employees continuously strive to contribute to the sustainable development of society through the manufacture and provision of innovative and quality products and services that lead the times ("Toyota Motor Corporation," 1995-2018). They listen to their customers carefully and the local community while they are pursuing a business that works towards people, society’s, and the global environments harmony. They provide Safety and Peace of Mind for society with growth through their business activities.

Hospitals could use the workforce development technique to manage employee development by creating job descriptions for positions that they intend to hire while putting monitoring their development ("Chron," 2018). This technique will create stronger working relationships between the manager and employees by guiding employee development; this development could include things like weekly meetings with the employees individually. With the growth management technique, this could increase revenue in the hospital as well as employee population, and a larger main location which can be great for any hospital. Another technique could be assessing competition by looking at their data on sales in different target markets and comparing resources that are available. Lastly, motivating and managing employee performance with a personnel management technique is something that would be very successful within a hospital setting because allocating qualified personnel to different departments, projects, and schedules that bring personnel resources together motivates employees to improve productivity and help with company goals ("Chron," 2018). With health cares need for better management these techniques would work very well in a hospital (Toussaint, 2016). Just as Toyota takes into consideration the communities input to see what they think about the decision they make on manufacturing, the hospital may reach out to the community as well, but they need to go steps further like Toyota so that they satisfy the community and patients with what they are doing to improve management techniques.

    Conclusion

Hospitals have so much on their plate when it comes to management techniques, but with the right techniques, they can overcome the challenges they may face. Incorporating these management techniques would help with employee engagement, employee's satisfaction, and customer satisfaction, just as Toyota has done for their customers and employees. As the article above says, innovative management techniques bring in more revenue and overall satisfaction that can cause expansion and better business.
