The district bully...

Awkward situation to discuss, our district has a 200 lb bully and she's no joke! Always dictating and condescending, it's like having an extra micro-managing-physco manager!!
Everyone in the pod feels the same, we've compared notes and found a few big red flags:

FLAG 1) brags and boasts about hanging out with our DM off work hours, weekends, etc
FLAG 2) already got someone fired (who was 10X the rep she is)
FLAG 3) calls to bully and intimidate after 5 pm, a literal HR nightmare!
FLAG 4) openly discusses personal issues to the point everyone within earshot is uncomfortable

I could keep going....

So what can we do to "tame the beast", or do we all have to leave and find new gigs, maybe call HR? Can't go to DM bc they're BFF...
I have years and years of experience and have never seen anything like this, she is literally a big bully.

 

We have one too. Luckily our manager is onto her and calls her on her shit.

I would say just tell her to STFU and let her know that nobody cares about or likes her.

 

I agree if she wasn't the male managers "go tod/BFF" - don't want to call his "baby ugly". I don't know know if he realizes how toxic she is.

New District manager in Nashville Derek Bailey.No joke, he used to be the manager in the men's underwear section at JCPenney.

 

1st - you show absolutely no class for using someone's full name on here. 2nd - we have had a LOT of Douche Bags here over the years. 3rd - I don't think he works in Nashville. Last -If he works in Eastern TN it sounds he would fit in just fine with the hiring manager, he's on our all time DB leaderboard.

Derek thinks he is wanted by all women and men want to be him (mentioned it one time during my sales call in an office...lol). He manages by intimidation and advices off label use just to get the sale... Worst boss I've ever had. I do not understand how he continues to get hired on by these companies, it's baffling. Derek B. Has NO CLASS AT ALL! DM's should NEVER talk about other reps in or outside the district. I do not understand a person with the lack of integrity and respect for others... How do companies not see that? .... he continues to get hired on by these companies.

I’m now glad I decided not to get on a plane to Nashville to interview with this guy. Got a bad feeling and read on him from the phone interview and this confirms it. He kept talking about how much he didn’t want a pharma rep and how pharma reps were bad. All I could think was wtf do you think you are/were and what industry do you believe you’re in?

 

Funny, I had to turn down a further interview as well but not for any of those reasons. The frequent overnight travel was the issue. He came across as professional and driven to me.

I was curious, it doesn’t look like we have any openings in the Nashville area. This thread is hard to follow from start to finish.

 

This was last year and wasn’t for a position in the Nashville area. He manages Salix and contract reps in other states.
