Why is Rob T. still employed by Ironwood? He’s completely destroyed the culture of this company and everything that we all came here for 5+ years ago. He turned this place into a mini Novartis. If we wanted big pharma, we’d have stayed in big pharma. Get rid of Rob and you’ll quickly start correcting the internal problems and morale. Try starting with that. Then get rid of the top people that lead us into this lesinurad nightmare. Why were only reps/sales let go and not upper level management? They are the ones that made this poor business decision. Duzallo reps should actually be given the upper level team’s salaries/bonuses to compensate for their lack of decent bonuses for over a year through absolutely no fault of their own. If I were a Duzallo lead I would have left a long time ago.

I agree that the culture completely changed when he was brought on board and not for the betterment of Ironwood. The question remains, why is he still here? Rob has a history of getting companies "prepped" for mergers and acquisitions. But that remains to be seen. In regards to the lesinurad fiasco, everyone in the field seems to be on the same page. Why do we continue to bleed money on a niche compound with little to no future? The drug needs to be trashed followed with a complete and appropriate reorganization. These things are obvious to those of us in the trenches. if HQ would listen to their tenured RSM's and CSS's, this company could be the great place we signed up for in the beginning.

One of the main reasons I left. Sales leaders are supposed to be passionate and motivating. This guy is the least movtivating sales leader I have met. Good leaders get your reps to run through a brick wall for you, not run away from the company. Good leaders foster constructive elements for change they don’t hinder them. Good leaders listen to their mgrs below them, they don’t mute them. Our managers are so beaten down that they can’t say anything because of all their stock. She’ll of the company it was. Half the original sales force has moved on.

I have to agree. If you want to make 8.5 calls a day and go home, not caring one way or the other about the territory or company, this is place to be. If you want to grow as a rep, really try to learn your territory, grow into a more specialized role like account management or even just a RSM, this is not the place to be. It's just a personal choice on what you want to do. The stock is not something to stick around for.

Novartis ‘Boys Club’ running the show at Ironwood, forcing those left behind to clean up their mess..

Novartis Sales Reps Will Testify About Lavish Meals, U.S. Says

U.S. prosecutors said numerous Novartis AG sales representatives will testify they plied doctors with lavish meals, booze and other benefits in exchange for promises to prescribe the Swiss company’s drugs, as a seven-year-old case moves toward trial.

One sales representative said he and his colleagues were “essentially buying scripts” by providing health-care providers across the country with perks, including paid speaking opportunities at events with "little to no educational content," prosecutors said in a filing Monday in federal court in Manhattan.

The government sought to highlight the depth of its evidence after Novartis had asked a judge to rule that there was insufficient proof to move forward. The government urged U.S. District Judge Paul Gardephe to reject the request and set a trial date.

“Novartis has identified multiple aspects of the government’s case for which the government lacks evidence to support its claims," spokesman Eric Althoff said in a statement. The company "disagrees with the government’s characterization of our conduct and continues to dispute the allegations concerning certain speaker programs from 2002 through 2011."

    Marketing Efforts
The government said that both health-care providers and sales representatives will also testify that doctors got paid to speak at events that never occurred, and that participants would sometimes take turns playing the part of speaker and attendee at events that did take place, according to the filing.

The U.S. sued Novartis in 2013, intervening in a case filed earlier by a whistle-blower alleging the Basel, Switzerland-based company regularly provided doctors with expensive dinners, fishing trips, fees to speak at events to boost sales of the company’s drugs.

In March 2017, Novartis was ordered to give prosecutors records from about 80,000 events that the government says were used to wine and dine doctors so they would prescribe the company’s cardiovascular drugs.

Novartis has recently faced other accusations of improper sales practices. In 2015, the company entered into a $390 million settlement with the Department of Justice to settle allegations that it had given kickbacks to specialty pharmacies in return for recommending two of its drugs.

The case is U.S. v. Novartis Pharmaceutical Corp., 11-CV-0071, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York (Manhattan).

Now, you’re just sounding like a spoiled millennial to me. You must not be a legacy hire, or you’d remember what it was like to drive those smelly rental cars our first year in the field!
