Why is stryker such a great place to work?

I'm close to securing an offer at Stryker Endo. I have surgical capital exp mainly with start ups and and mid size companies, making consistently between 200-230K. The recruiter I spoke to gave some decent numbers (220-250K OTE) but of course I was skeptical. While doing my due diligence, I spoke to several reps in the region and what I found was interesting. Of course the average pay is closer to 180 but apparently, SYK doesn't pay expenses, cuts ASR salary out of TM pay, and does almost zero clinical selling as it's all done at the administrative level. However, everyone I spoke to kept touting the "awesome team" and "great company to work for". I get all that, but at the end of the day 180K is somewhat pedestrian in med device and it's industry standard to pay mileage, gas, expenses and sometimes even provide a company car yet most of these reps have been at SYK 7 plus years. From a fulfillment standpoint, there seems to be no clinical interaction which is why most folks are in med device to begin with. Can anyone explain what I'm missing here?

you are spot on and basically answered your own questions. the only question left if why would you take a job here?

That 180k will be closer to 150k within 2 years. The way corporate looks at it you should be willing to give up everything to work for them.

someone making 200k+ would never take an Endo job. Facts. Why go backwards?

Stryker is such a great place to work because
    1. I can wear my OR scrubs in airports while carrying my Stryker bag,
    2. open lots of boxes in the OR,
    3. flex for all of the hot nurses in the OR,
    4. take Wednesdays off for leg day and
    5. constantly see my commissions reduced and territory split.

If it truly was a great place to work, then there wouldn't be the mass turnover that they have. The managers strongly suggest that you fill out the GPTW survey with perfect marks because they are important hiring tools. Stryker went from being a destination company in medical sales to being a feeder company. Not quite the salesman's paradise that they claim at the meetings. Not going to sell my stock anytime soon though as together with their customers, they are driven to make their stockholders richer.
