“Historical Transgressions” what a joke this is systemic within GSK. Not historical it is all current events.

How about thinning half of the middle managers in US pharma who have nothing to do except dream up new initiatives to try to increase falling market share which is happening because of their ridiculous constant reorganization’s which tear apart relationships between rep and provider. Hate to break it to you but human relationships matter!,, I know they want to think that sticking an iPad in front of our providers will sell more product but if there is no relationship to begin with how many providers will even see us anymore? Stupidity at its finest - many of us have just given up. Why don’t you hire monkeys and train them? We get no input into these asinine reorganizations and these marketing initiatives not to mention severely flawed customer lists. I think GSK should get rid of half the people here and please include all the idiot management team.

Definitely a low IQ poster with the use of profanities. Did you get fired from GSK because you couldn’t hack it? I bet so as you now live in Mom’s basement. Good news, she’s making macaroni and cheese tonight, you’re favorite. And later, mom and you can make s’mores together. What a loser, GSK was lucky to have fired you.

Emma was the best of the internal candidates and is off to a good start demonstrating strong leadership. While we need to look forward we should learn from the past. By most measures Witty did not perform: poor stock performance v competitors, weak pipeline, bad strategic moves, e.g.,, exit oncology, no significant M&A other than the poor Novatis deal, scandal in China.......

Scandals in developing world, bad slogans (white pills for western markets), failure to jettison bad leaders (Monself, Patrick), volume strategy, I will let others add to this list.

To the posters that continue to post about the past CEO’s legacy then please don’t waste your time. Let’s focus on the task at hand for Emma. GSK is lucky to have her. It won’t be easy to propel our stock price out of the mid 30s to the mid 50s, where it was during the past ten years. To the sample droppers, get off your butts and drop those samples and sub sammiches.

It won't be easy, especially if somebody, not naming names, slips up again and gets people jittery about the dividend.

I agree, Emma needs her chance to make her mark. We are all hoping for the best.

But honestly, its hard to disconnect her from the previous CEO when he hand picked her to lead consumer. And lets not forget, sir Andrew was ‘winner’ of a 3 man internal candidate search for CEO, beating out two other stiffs (David Stout and Chris Viebacher). Meet the new Boss, same as the old boss.

    They were the best.

Not sure David Stout would have been any good. Chris V would have been the better choice. Witty should have been fired after placing his friend, Mark Reilly, as head of GSK China despite having zero experience in China. Reilly was the leader during the bribery scandals and of course the infamous sex tape. Any reasonable Board would have fired the CEO after such a horrendous decision.

Agree. After years of saying the mistakes were made in the past, Witty had a scandal that was the biggest of them all. Not only did Witty cover for Reilly, he hired a private investigator (China Whys) to look for the whistleblower in the Organization, instead of investigating the actual crime. As part of the settlement, the whistleblower was rehired (and still works for GSK), sad. Hate to say it but yes, that stiff Chris V would have been a million times better than twit.

That private investigator was left out to dry, and suffered greatly in a People's Republic of China prison. That is truly a sad legacy

China Whys is a fitting name since investors are asking “Why China”.

Why China indeed? Shanghai is one of the most expensive cities in the world, yet GSK planned to save money by setting up shop there?
