Investor fraud, federation securities violations..it’s been all over the news last 2 weeks.

The only question is when will this scam collapse? Jacob, Brancaccio, and Shahlubhai, key members of the ring, have already abandoned ship. Will Troy, who is an innocent latecomer, be stoking the fireplace with his stock options at this afternoon's "Fireside Chat"?

Jacob and his cronies have built careers on failing biotechs (Callisto, Trovagene, ContraVir, and now Synergy). However, I don't think Hamilton was unduly enriched by his relatively short stint at Synergy. And while Jacob took millions year after year, these were paltry sums compared to what they could have raked in if any of these companies ever were sold. Cerrone, the co-founder of Synergy, had his big payday when they sold Inhibitex to Bristol-Myers for $2.5 billion. When Bristol-Myers couldn't replicate the trial results and wrote the whole thing off, I think few in the pharma industry would ever trust these guys again. Some have said in the past that this management group failed because they were "scientists, not businessmen". Actually, they were neither. They were stock promoters.

 

More like carnival barkers. They got caught in their scam. Payback is a bitch.
