How did Vanessa W. Get promoted? Pretend to lose her voice to make other managers do her work. What a joke. Good thing I’m in LA.

How the hell did VW get promoted to manager? She can’t sell her derm drug yet she was a derm rep. Thank God I’m in SoCal otherwise I can’t stand her fakeness. Pretending to lose her voice so that she can’t humiliate her sorry ass in front of the region. Then she makes other managers do her job. What a joke

VW= Vanessa Walton in Nor Cal? If so, she’s BAD NEWS! No idea how she got promoted. No other qualified candidates maybe? I know Reps that report to her are just miserable. If you are one, I am sorry! Pfizer is going down hill quarter by quarter anyways! Nextttt!

Tom Touzinsky, District Manager for Pfizer in San Diego, CA is the worst manager in pharma. That says a lot considering I’ve been a rep for over 15 years. He is verbally abusive and is a bully. He manages by intimidation, is an asshole, and is a sexist pig. He treats the guys in his district completely different/ better than the girls. He has the good old boys club mentality. I know for a fact that Pfizer has had to settle multiple law suits because of him. I don’t understand why they keep him. He must have something on Pfizer because he’s a complete liability.

Toxic culture with far too many bloated egos, pounding their chests, or pounding the ambition, ability, and aptitude of the contributors into submission and subjugation. A coworker shared with me one of many examples of how the wrong people are rewarded and how those wrongly rewarded become the examples of what and who we should strive to emulate in this organization. The person of discussion is not unlike dozens within the organization. Full of shit, says all of the right things to leadership, executes all of the bad ideas of leadership, and is full of herself. The irony of it all: she has zero access, makes excuses when her prescribers stop writing, knows how to play the system, knows how to deflect blame, has very few strong relationships with prescribers, has little to know knowledge of the clinical setting, and lacks any actual awareness of the business setting of her customers. Yet she will be up on stage again as a winner. And she will be more overly confident and falsely cocky for yet another year. PFE breeds assholes and on the flip side beats good people into submission. There is a mental illness inherent in the leadership and those leadership holds in high regard. The culture, and those who succeed in it are not the same as the moral fabric and those who actually contribute. Ask for help or advice here? Expect to be humiliated by those your leadership have chosen to reward and recognize, while retaliating and releasing those who question a broken business model. Yes the pay is good and yes far too many get away with doing little to nothing at PFE. But this pales in comparison to those who put more effort into holding the most capable and the most contributing down. There are some great minds at PFE, too bad there are so many worthless assholes rotting the core of every one of the good apples.

Im no Shakespeare like the guy’s quote above but it’s still a pig even with lipstick. Our Regionals always smell like a pigsty.

You are asking the wrong question. It’s who is the worst Regional? They are the problem it’s where the $&&& starts and could stop.

But whose the one that gets the regional rattled when the reps barely even know these guys? DMs can use that as an excuse and maybe the regional is to blame, but many times dms will convince the regional to target an individual. DMs have the relationship with the rep. DMs are the ones that report back to the regional to paint the picture of THEIR relationship with the rep. Sometimes the reps do need to be eliminated, but far too many times the sh*t is personal and not about performance.

Most managers are dirty rotten finks. They will throw anyone under the bus in order to appease the regional manager. In my tenured career I have had 10 different managers. All but 3 were only looking out for themselves.

Heard there’s a manager in NY suing Pfizer for something. Probably for doing to him what he’s done to many.

Absolutely true! Regionals are generally useless - believe anything the DMs tell them and when they do work in the field it's with a rep that's been has hand-picked by the DM. A Regional that really wanted to know what is going on will work with the ones NOT recommended by the DM. But...does the RM really want to know? Probably not and the games continue.
