I have seen plans come and go. This is crazy. Does anyone realize how stupid, how demotivating, how insane it is. I cant believe our company has come to this. I think it is time to rethink this gig. A manager once said, if the IC is complicated there is a reason why, they want you to fail. I never believed it and thought it was crap, but man, this is shit on a stick.

Marketing thinks this is a super motivating plan...just like the super contest they came up with before Christmas! Marketing disciples, who run just about every corner of home office now, think all of their new and amazing ideas are beyond criticism. What a great idea to take half of your INCENTIVE compensation and put it completely out of your hands! Genius!

WTF! Unattainable goals. Cannibalization not considered. And btw, you have no samples.

Marketing should get paid on our plan.

been here a long time. I've Never Seen a more demotivated sales force and have never seen goals jacked up to this level ever. Clearly NN doesn't want to pay out bonuses. I personally know of 5 really good reps that will start interviewing. This is bullsh$t. Thanks Novo. Real sound business plan!

I was just hired, with a start date of 3/12. Bonus plan is ridiculous, and not explained during interviews. I'm leaving b4 I start!

Good news! I'm happy we'll have less people who listen to the cries and moans of the CP shitheads.

I have massively started looking elsewhere for a new job. I was also met with a "verbal warning action plan" because apparently I don't know how to do my job. All in all zero f*s are being given. I'll go through the motions until the next job comes along. But whats the point of working for a bonus that isn't going to be paid out regardless... this company used to be a great place to work

    1) You're not making any bonus
    2) You acknowledge that you are simply going through the motions
    3) You've been given a verbal warning for an inability to do your job
    4) You're already "massively" looking for a new job

I'm pretty sure no one is going to give a shit that you leave. I don't think your departure will have anything to do with the complications of the IC plan.

Okay, I feel vindicated now. I thought it was me, but been here a while too and I was second guessing myself. Does anyone complain on satisfaction surveys?

You sound like the typical millennial. You want everything handed to you and you bail when the pressures on. Try doing your job and sell. The bonus structure has changed drastically in the past of couple years. This bonus plan is just another way of polishing a turd. There’s not much of a pay difference between #1 and #300

The dirty little secret of the pharma industry is that over three to four years everyone makes about the same cumulative bonus. If you don't like it, leave. It is the same with every company! That being said, it is ridiculous that the Obesity sales force has 50% of their IC riding on the rest of their district mates.

If you a referring to the Novo Nordisk Way of using IC attainment as a barometer of whether or not you can do your job most people will not doing their jobs this POA.

Here’s the deal, there is only so many times a company can restructure and “displace” people before “the street” starts to ask WTF and look into things. We’ve pushed it with 3 years in a row. So the next way to downsize is to do what we’re doing now...
    1. Change the retirement eligibility to push out a group that would be absolutely crazy to think they’ll make it to 60.
    2. Create an IC plan that is demotivating and will cause people to look elsewhere.
    3. Create an IC plan that is also unachievable and can serve as a performance management tool.
    4. Start moving people into roles and geographies that don’t fit and will cause them and those surrounding them to leave.

It saddens me to say that I agree with each one of your four points here. I have had some big hikes in goals during my tenure here but this last one, at least for one of our products, is absolutely unattainable for our team. Definitely a wake-up call here for a lot of us.
