    Hi guys,
Im a recent bioengineering graduate (2 years ago).
Im from the bay area and I spent alot of my time in undergrad with the intention I would be able to work with medical devices. I really want to get into medical device sales.
Overall I have probably 7 or more pending patents/projects that I self designed
I also was a clinical intern where I made a data base to study outcomes of robotic vs laparoscopic and open surgeries for clinical sales folks to be able to use

I have about 400 hours of OR experience (I was a premed student once)
and I have a few business plans and marketing strategies to some major companies (Dyson, iRobot, Intuitive surg) which were recognized by management .

How do I break in? Do I still have to go through an associates position?

You have to go sell something, and have some success over a period of time outside of med; copiers, wine, anything. When the selling gets tough, have proof that you were successful in spite of challenges. Your experience is desirable, but not enough to get you a second interview. IMHO I managed the east coast and my superiors would never let me move a candidate up without any sales success.

    Where did you work?
I find it comical they would take someone who sold pencils and think they would do the same in surgical device sales
