I have never worked for a company so full of “good ol boys” in my entire life. If you’re in the club you’re set. If you are out you’re out.

Elanco upper management is so full of themself that they couldn’t see Trifexis tanking right in front of their eyes and now they company is suffering for it. I’ve seen better leadership by a 3rd grade soccer coach. The arrogance around this place is so thick that even Colonor Lilly can’t cut it with his sword. I have more confidence in Donald Trump than I do this place. Can’t wait for Dallas for management to tell us how great they are.

What is "good ole boys"? Is that code for something? Is that why affirmative action is needed because a "good ole boy" says you're not a "fit" during interviews?

good ol boys club refers to a group of individuals who sit around all day and boast how great they are. They’re the “in crowd”.

They sit at their country clubs get big and fat, smoke cigars and laugh at all the others out there not in the club.

Simmons surrounds himself with weak-kneed, ineffective minions that will only act after he speaks. They can’t manage a lemonade stand let alone a complex business. Then they surround themselves with snowflakes who don’t know how to work but can recite Simmons last speech. Those who left and now work at competitors have enjoyed eroding Elancos business and will be happy when more buildings close in Greenfield.

Haha. I agree. Simmons acts like the wizard, in the wizard of oz, and every one of his minions looks at him with those dreamy eyes. I like how SM looks like a lumberjack in his videos. Come on already. Put a shirt and tie on, step up your game and act like a leader.

    A tie doesn’t make one a leader

You want to see poor leadership? Send out an email about 1 rep out of 300 selling 80 cartons of a newly launched product and make the 299 feel like crap.

An email recognizing someone else’s accomplishment made you feel bad? Really??!! Go back to your safe space. Good luck trying to find a job where performance isn’t measured.

i finally found this page! I didn’t even know about this until my manager told me about it. I was with my manager recently and he referenced this page and how “he’s not in this club” even though he really is. He said the thing about this club was that all the managers in this club HATE their manager, DB. The late night or weekend texts, they can’t stand him. His wife even knows how much he doesn’t like him. They call him the Drill Sargent. He calls/emails/texts so much that when he really wants to get a serious point across to you it’s just another yell, another order. Just thought I’d share that thought, that the managers don’t even like this club anymore but admit it exists.

Lol, you act like there is only 1 “club” and are picking this one to keep your own “club” out of the spotlight. Maybe we can start the legacy Novartis club thread or legacy elanco club thread or Passive Aggressive Women at Elanco club (not assuming this is even a woman, jut saying we seem to recruite those here too).

This is so stupid....you don’t like your manager so blame leadership. You don’t like your goal so blame leadership. You don’t like your job or maybe even yourself so blame anyone and everyone you can find.

Is DB the real problem here....I’m sorry your manager is so weak he (good ol boy) jumps in the boat with you and then even tells you about how his manager is pushing on the team. Maybe that’s why you don’t deliver too, your manager (insert excuse here). My manager would never even have a discussion about this post or board with me and Shouldn’t. My manager isn’t perfect but I do at least respect, I don’t think I would feel same way if I had yours but that’s just me. Maybe he will leave and find a new company and take you along bc your probably his “best Rep” that’s why he tells you things, lol.

When you think that this company has moved away from the “good ol boys club” they make the move like they did this week. First, they make a horrible hire to be director of vaccines then fire him within a few weeks. Who the hell is responsible for our vetting process?? How does this happen?!? Garbage hire that they say we should all be excited about. What a joke.

As a follow up to that they compile the problem by hiring a “good ol boy” on the inside in GA. The guy has zero years of vaccine experience yet Elanco has to hire someone in their club. I have a challenge for GA:
Don’t mess up the vaccines like you did with the fda and Galliprant. We all know it was your lack of experience with the paperwork that messed it up

Nothing changes here. Same ol Elanco.

This club definitely exists but we should rename it because women are included. How does MJ get moved into the role she is in? She was on the Osior team and where has that brand gone?? In the shitter. Or let’s talk about DT; what is she 20 years old? You put her in charge of one of the most important launches we’ve had!! Has anyone heard anything from her at all? I think I received 3 emails total from her. How about reaching out to reps and ask questions; how about coming to our meetings; how about coming up with some creative ideas. How about doing your job.

Overall this sucks for reps out in the field, we count on Elanco to make the right hires but no they just keeping making mistakes and keep expanding the club.

I have to agree because I’m racking my brain and can’t think of who belongs to the initials DT.

DT is doing a great job considering the challenges and has been very involved with the field. This sale hasn’t been easy for anyone but, If your sales are sub-par compared to peers maybe look for in the mirror for blame.

Seems that there may need to be a different thread here since the last posts are about mostly women in marketing roles and in no relation to a good ol boys club existence.

Also, GA wasn’t responsible for the Galliprant issues that we as Aratana as they were still manufacturing the product when that happened.

DT has handled the launch of a 4th to market brand that was missing the largest sku like a seasoned professional, well beyond her “20 years”. She gathered input from all levels of the organization and put a plan in place that allowed that brand to perform at the same level as the 3rd to market competitor in it’s first year.

At the brand level, I don’t see how anyone could see this as a failure. I’m guessing it was a different story in your territory.
