Any insights into the Biz development rep facial aesthetics San Francisco territory? Why did the last rep leave? Good territory? What is the manager like? Any idea about the last rep’s base pay and comp package?

    easy 200 per year

10 year Facial Aesthetic veteran here.

Just did my taxes, 4 year average W2: $175,000

However, the numbers are going down, down, down...the days of hitting $200K consistently are probably behind us. That's just the reality.

Will they promote from within? Do you have a better chance if you live in SF versus living in a surrounding area?

    Promote from within: yes.

I appreciate everyone’s answers. Thank you.

So, is there any hope if I reach out to the regional manager or RB the VP of sales? I’m a persistent sales rep and that would be my next step. However, I don’t want to waste anyone’s time if it won’t help.

There is always a chance but I would say on the low side as Allergan notoriously promotes from W in especially in this division. Good luck!

Is this position filled? When will interviews take place? How do you win the job if interviewed? Need this job to pay off massive undergrad student loans. Highly motivated and got the look for aesthetic sales. Highly I telligent but stuck on the sales path. Allergan is a dream job. Who do I need to network with?

Not happening. Getting a job as a BDM at Allergan is like winning the lottery.

Base pay is low and commissions aren't what they used to be

Others are saying this is a 200k territory. Is that not true anymore?

    How long before interviews?

There is no such thing as a "$200K territory". Every territory has the potential for feast or famine. Every. Single. One. If it works for you, you can get it to go where you want it to go. Has nothing to do with the geography--it's mostly luck, in all honesty.

lol this is so true. Work hard, try hard, etc but 99% of the time success or failure depends on circumstances not what you did.

Allergan is known for paying the lowest base pay (like I’m embarsssed to tell me friends about job openings). Commission is pretty meh but on par with your average company.

You can be in Beverly Hills or Midtown Manhattan or Alaska or Topeka, KS. It literally MAKES NO DIFFERENCE. As long as their is "room for growth" in your territory (which BH and NYC have very, very little) then you can make a few bucks for 2-4 years. After that, it's going to be a Christmas miracle for you to try to come close to $200K. If you budget for around $150K a year, that should be realistic. There were days (in the past) where $180-$200K was a realistic thing, those days are gone. I am sorry.

Opening due to a promotion of the BDM to APC. Great manager but quotas are not realistic and growth is no longer there because Allergan is spread so thin.

Thank you for this information. I will have an interview soon. How can I impress this manager? What does he typically look for in a rep? I’m better at my job than interviews so I have to really prepare.

What do you mean? What is the income expectation with commission and bonuses?
