I am considering applying for a sales rep position here as well as a few contract position like Publicis and inVentiv. Which one offers a more sustainable future? At least at the CSOs, there's always hope another contract comes along. I don't see a future at Amarin much past 2 years?? I am confused?? What's the plan?

Contract treats you better. They target people here to fire and if you are targeted they will find a way to fire you. They post people's jobs before the people are told they were being fired of put on a plan. If reduce-it comes out ok then the company is sold and you won't have a job. They don't give you enough stock to last more than 5-6 months being unemployed. If reduce-it stinks then the company will go under. So a no win situation if you ask me.

Plus, this job is a resume killer. How do you compete with people who have REAL pharmaceutical experience when you're just peddling fish oil?

Probably better off contract. It depends who your manager is. I had a worthless douche in Texas. The most unprofessional person I ever worked with. I escaped

Is it more embarrassing to be a rep or a dm here? This is such a joke of employment? What's worse? To admit you are selling fish oil or managing the dolts who do it? Blind monkeys could do just as well.

this whole place is s joke, and now thought leaders say not to bother with fish oils unless you’re really in deep with the heart issues. There’s really no future here now, is there?

I heard that reps just sleep with doctors for scripts at Amarin. Easy way to make money if you're into that. NJ especially.

Sounds like the coke head traders are back, scared because they’re still short!

No! It doesn't matter if you are contract or direct hire. All Pharma is until you get laid off.
This product has some merit, but don't expect much insurance coverage and don't expect the company to care about you.
They will metric the metrics to the point that you spend so much time hitting metrics that you don't have time to really go get business.
    It's a good pit stop.
The last time they tried to launch a drug, they cut off people's credit cards and didn't tell anyone until after lunch. So if you were doing a lunch that day, you found out your job was over by getting your card declined!

It’s a filler job. Take it if you’re out of work but keep looking. Metric driven culture.

A 100 K plus sales job where you work 10-3 everyday is not a filler job. Do you think big pharma is better? If you do, you are not too intelligent. Sorry. Big pharma and big companies are the WORST to work for. You might make a few more dollars, but they will treat you like crap. Smaller companies are were the smart people are, and if you don't get that, there is little hope for you.
