Miraca Life Sciences has a comprehensive compliance program, including a Code of Conduct and written policies and procedures, designed to enhance and achieve both individual and corporate compliance. Employees are provided compliance training upon hire, and refresher courses are conducted annually.

A key message in Miraca Life Sciences’ compliance training is that each employee has a duty to prevent, detect, and report conduct that does not conform to federal and state regulations or our business ethics and policies. Employees may responsibly report any such issues to their supervisor or a member of the senior management team. Employees may also choose to report issues to their supervisor’s management, Human Resources, or Legal / Compliance at any time in accordance with our “open door” philosophy.

The Code of Conduct, and expectations of employee behavior, is certainly not restricted to the workplace, but anywhere a Miraca employee is posting information about the company, our products and services, or other teammates.

I am not a Miraca employee but I have a compliance violation by one of your sales reps that I'd like to report. Where do I send this complaint?

Miraca's "compliance" program could be very useful to plaintiffs in court when compared with the actual conduct of its employees if they do in fact offer inducements for business, Remember kickbacks are a FELONY not a civil matter.

Miraca currently is a defendant in a qui tam lawsuit which alleges kickbacks. It will be interesting to see if the plaintiffs succeed.

To the posters here who complain about being harmed byMiraca/Caris giving kickbacks: get an attorney who specializes in health law. Have someone qualified look at your situation You need specific allegations. If your attorney believes kickbacks are being given, you have legal recourse. But for God's sake, don't think complaining will help you and don't ask a representative of Caris to look out for your interests. They don't care about your problems. Get a good attorney and take the proper legal action, if the situation warrants it. Good luck.

If we had any consideration towards compliance, we wouldn't be where we are. Hope the new person cleans house.

The board of directors should have at least one Dermatologist, GI, GU, and hemepath who is ethical and accomplished.

What value would such a structure add?

Depends on what direction we take going forward. Right now our product is result of unnecessary over-usage, higher fees, and revenue sharing with the referring physicians. A board with experienced clinicians can provide valuable oversight and far as compliance and ethics are concerned.
