Pretty obvious the Managers and Reps making up the sales force needs a second look. For a breakthrough Sepsis drug .....The announced revenue/sales report is lousy. 200 hospitals on formulary ? Doing a happy dance ? Are you kidding me ? Formulary approval does not mean the drug is being used. Looks like most of the sales are wholesale stocking and not pull through to the hospital. Geeez ....just the hospitals that were involved in the clinical trials and have experience using the drug alone should have been able to generate the reported sales/revenue.

Sales force needs to get their act together or the Managers and reps need a second look. The just released sales and revenue numbers for G are lousy. A breakthrough Sepsis drug and only 200 hospital across the USA have it on formulary ? That doesn't even mean these hospitals have it stocked or being used on patients. Pull through from the wholesalers to the hospital from afar looks pretty pathetic. Formularies don't even meet during the summer months either. Not good

How is the morale within the field sales force ? How is access to the hospital and ICU these days ?

Are Sepsis patients getting the product yet ? Are Critical Care Specialists even considering it ?

Sepsis treatment is a very tough sell. The only previous product to be approved was Lilly's Xigris. Sales were way below projections and the product was eventually removed from the market. The indication for La Jolla's product is relatively narrow, and CC specialists have been burned multiple times by companies promising sepsis breakthroughs. Good luck.
