Pharma 'sales' has been a PR marketing gig for the last 20 years ... the 'sales' model to detailing is something straight out of the 1950s....its like were door to door salesmen selling brushes (please google the Fuller Brush salesman) to housewives..... the old viz-aid , pt type, set up story , then you hit'em (the doc) with the 'as you can see from this graph (whichever way it points is a good thing) ...finish with the strong close about how pts benefit and can you Rx it for you next pt? Back in the car with your DM beaming about that great call and promising to get you that chocolate lava cake at the Cheesecake Factory for big well deserved lunch.

He’s not the finest character that ever lived. But he’s a human being, and a terrible thing is happening to him. So attention must be paid. He’s not to be allowed to fall into his grave like an old dog. Attention, attention must be finally paid to such a person.

Four Gsk reps plus a contract rep for Gsk calling on the same doctors constantly!! Let’s clise on every call!! These poor providers are getting sick of us!

And management wonders why practices continue to become harder to access. They want to ride along every week and see that stellar word for word detail and close. Gsk is the laughing stock of pharma.

On top of that, former GSK DBMs ended up at other Pharma companies and brought that same BS with them. I guess it will take all offices to shut out ALL reps before things will change.

That started years ago when they started " teams " and they split up product responsibility. I was the ONLY rep with Augmentin......then there were 3 of us.....then they hired a rent-a-rep company [ PDI ] to HELP US !!! All of this prior to 2016. An old GSK ploy for some strange reason.

Job hasn't been sales since the early 80's, most reps today couldn't sell pardons for a buck in prison. I am a soon to retire physician and I feel sorry for the reps but I don't have time for the BS.

Dr, I know you are too busy to watch television at home in your off time, so I thought I would take this opportunity to allow you to watch this exciting video on my iPad, complete with scratchy sound.

Why can’t anyone speak up and saying anything about this BS? They are making us less effective with this crap! This article says it well:

To keep my job for over 20 years, I did what I was told to do and did not complain, like many millennials do now.

But millennials are the future (leaders)!

Not when they live at Mommy and Daddy's house and don't work.

You are obviously brain dead like many experienced reps here. They like to hire the types who don’t question authority. Get out of here if you want to keep your brain!

Did what you were told? Like sell off label to pedestrians? You belong in prison!

"pedestrian" ? Son, in my day not too many years ago....they checked on us and also docs we called on through mail and telephonically. We were squeaky clean, and I won many awards. Yes, we had whistle blowers then, but there was nothing to whistle blow about.......later we hired millennials. 'Nuff said.

”telephonically”? There is an empty chair at a bingo game with your name on it. ‘Nuff said.
