i am sure you are a very capable and good candidate, but doesn’t an offer like that seem strange? Why don’t they promote there own people? Why didn’t another qualified candidate get internally referred. The management team recently had a major shake up, why wasn’t this position addressed? I hope that you can honestly look at the job discription and think you meet all the stated requirements and then answer why did the contact me?
If you enjoy being expected to work hard without the money you deserve, join. If you don't mind working on a sinking ship, join. If you like being fed lies about improvement and increases in sales while there's massive layoffs, join.
Then quit.... Some find the courage to walk away, while others stay and complain. Which one are you???
Can't quit. I'm not independently wealthy like most of the upper management. As soon as I get another gig, I will quit. So for now, I'll use the shit out if this company. Yeah, I know, nobody has a gun to my head making me stay. This is America baby! But, gotta keep food on the table. In the meantime, you can fuck off and I'll keep complaining about the shit show Curt is running.
Life at conmed: Death from cancer, quit, eliminated positions, staff reduction (layoffs), found a better job and stopped coming in, old gossip queens with no life still bullying happy people, bathrooms reek of dead animal flesh and farts, immature people with selective hearing, obesity, cheerleader crap from managers at every factory meeting to stay positive, did I miss anything?
So far we are doing okay. We are definitely NOT improving anything. BUT. We are also not slipping downwards either. I have been told we will be upgrading staff in many departments because we're going to be launching so many products and will need the help. I have only witnessed mandatory overtime in a few areas, and talks about shifting departments around between buildings.
Wow, this precisely defines the advanced surgical division. Can’t wait to be able to put in my notice and go to a better place.
ConMed is a stepping stone company. It’s best not get too attached cause they will lay you off or fire you. Employees are toxic to the extreme. Honestly it was better at Stryker than here
It's getting better. We don't have layoffs anymore. People quit. Some got fired. Some just disappeared and nobody is talking. Some are working from home because they didn't do much to begin with when they were physically here.
Update: We are still holding strong. People moving around from building to building to help out departments that are understaffed. Rumors going around there will be more layoffs in another month because the economy isn't picking up right now. People around the world are not undergoing electable surgeries (yet). The people that will be let go will be those who are making much more money than a new hired employee would (the ones that devoted more than 20 years to the company). The new hires will start out with $13/hour if they're lucky, and then some more managers/team leaders will be targeted (expensive baby sitters). It's rumored to start in the middle of May.
