Sounds like it was good news all around.

Yes, there was news all around but I doubt most displaced people felt it was good news. The real news is that our company has morphed into the “less than honest company” category. When on the conf call it was said that there should be no displacements. Well, that just was a big fat untruth. Is our company in the red? Severance is pretty pitiful for the nondisplaced folks too. Hmmm....

Astellas is sadly not a great place to work. The culture has become toxic. I left 7 months ago and since then, there has been a mass exit of good employees. Leadership is clueless.

This company has vast potential and just going through some changing times. Instead of being part of the mass exit, I decided to stick around. It Resulted in a nice promotion well into the management ranks. When Astellas turns the corner, I plan to be part of the celebration!

The problem is they’re getting rid of good reps through compliance/legal. I can think of one area director that should have been fired because of her incompetence and direction to the field. If your Area Director or manager doesn’t like you or complete tools, You’re screwed. If you’re at HQ, even if you were a former rep, you’re clueless to how the field has changed. Astellas culture has become toxic. It’s all J&J/Pfizer people who screwed up their old organizations. Japan needs to step in. Urology/PCP/Hospital are screwed for the forseeable future.
