They can't subpoena your personal devices, only the ones issued to you by your employer. If you're logging in to this site from your Alkermes device, you're a moron and you deserve what's coming your way. Also, no subpoena is needed to look over the contents of your Alkermes device. Everything you create, send and receive on your Alkermes device is 100% avaialble to IT at all times. IT can even view your Google search history on your Alkermes phone. It's in your employee contract. This is corporate America in 2018, accept reality. Also part of reality is the fact that forums like Cafe Pharma will always exist because the truth will always be revealed on high stakes topics, sooner or later. Shut this site down, another one will replace it. This applies not just to Alkermes and the pharma industry, but all corporations, as well as political systems, cultures, belief systems, etc.
May want to consult an attorney regarding your first statement. It’s called pre-trial discovery when your personally being sued. Also you may want to google libel laws when speaking about the “truth” What other industries has a site like this one?
Yeah, and why would they sue an employee? It isn’t a criminal charge to talk crap about your company. It might be a civil charge but then... they would have to prove that you lost them income AND that your opinion was false. The very idea that a company would go that far over some cafe pharma bs is laughable. The backlash alone over such an act (remember, people HATE pharma and they HATE pharma lawyers even more) it would not happen. Also pre trial discovery has nothing to do with your personal devices. They would need a subpoena dumb dumb and guess what? They wouldn’t get it. Especially if they didn’t have hard proof that you were The one posting. They would have to have a hard reason with proof to subpoena your device I’m so sick of people trolling with fear of this. Don’t use your company device and don’t dox yourself ... if you are anxious, don’t post anything that isn’t your personal opinion. It’s that easy.
