I am a rep with another biotech...I know how these boards can be, but I have a family member that was prescribed Horizant, she has Medicare and the copay is $580 for 3 month supply...she tried to apply for coupon through the company but was denied due to having Medicare...she did receive some samples to try out...are there other copay or free drug programs the company may offer if she called directly?
Thanks for any info, it would be appreciated

You're with a biotech company and think there is legal copay assistance for Medicare patients?

You need to go back to training and learn that medicare patients or any other government subsidized patients are not eligible for coupons.

Have her switch to gabapentin.....90 day supply for $15 bucks, problem solved.

You're funny, guess that's why you work for this crappy company and get in to legit biotech...keep doing your primary care stint and good luck

Sorry folks, the company I work for actually tries to help patients and yes we offer free drug in certain situations for any type of insurance...so maybe you should be the one going back to training

Thanks for the suggestion. I did think of suggesting that, but not sure, and haven't had time to look at study with the other active drug the company added to gaba

You will be taking extra compliance modules....and your incentive comp will be taking a hit soon when the biotech you are working for gets hit with a CIA for “helping” people with government subsidized insurance.

Just tell your physician Horizant is too expensive and ask him or her to supply you with samples. Medicare patients are on a fixed income. What is a few samples? The rep will thank you because that will give the rep more access to that physician. The rep isn't going to get the script anyway at that price.

Not sure why no one mentioned this... there is a mail order program being rolled out soon that should help.

GABA is not $15 for 90. Check Goodrx.

The active ingredient is crap, just like the drug. My doctor prescribed Lyrica for my mom and it worked well. It was affordable.

If you are trying to bag on Horizant and rile people up you can stop. Nobody really cares anymore because everyone hates it here.

Wrong.....just got a 90-day mail order $15.79......why would anybody pay $60.....$80.......$100 for 30 day supply. Heaven forbid they need to take it twice a day.......glug.......glug.....glug.....drink the Kool-Aid.

Maybe they like doing PAs to get HZ.....because their insurance is inadequate. In my opinion Arbor is an inadequate pharma company. Their Kool-Aid isn't working on me.
