It's 2018. If you're unable to sell brands in today's managed markets, then quit. Coverage wont become any less complex in the future under a privatized insurance model; or, move to the Midwest. Then you'll realize you still cant hit goal with commerical coverage, but at least can afford to own a nice home and take up a hobby or two besides blaming others on CP for your lack of skill and success.

It has nothing to do with being able to sell. It’s the unattainable quotas. But you are right, this is a pattern by leadership. Time to move on

Any ideas on potential buyers for OBU? I heard Novartis is looking at us, does anyone know? If/when another company buys our BU, I really hope it’s not another eyecare company.

I'm responding to the poster complaining about PA's and lack of commerical being the reason s/he wont make trip.

Oh please, I've won P Club a few times now in my past. This has NOTHING TO DO WITH SELLING SKILLS. If patients and doctors can't access the drug due to non coverage, cost, and having to fail on Restasis first (because let's be honest failures happen more than docs think but patients aren't proactive enough to say hey I don't think this is working target than just give up, and neither are docs in follow up...They're too busy), they aren't going to fill / Rx Xiidra if it's a PITA and let's be honest in many situations it is.
This is dry eye, not life and death. Plain and simple! Let me guess though, you're awesome so good that all your did write xiidra, you have no issues, and shit rainbows right!
So take your holier than thou attitude and shove it.

I didn’t think it was actually possible for our managed care coverage to get worse for X, but it has......
I guess insurance companies have caught on to the fact that generic R will be available soon and they are already preparing it. Why else are all of these step edits for R happening with commercial plans? About the time I think it can’t get any worse.....it does.
Do we even have a managed care team or are the only working for rare disease?

Just keep telling them that we have 90% coverage. It works every time.

You can kiss my superfragilicious assodocius! Managed Care is a core strength of Shire! In fact, we are rated in the top tier of all pharma companies!

‘Holy shit! This has to be a troll. Rated top tier... hahaha. Is there some sort of managed care monthly report? This has to be a joke.

Top tier!?! Oh please you have to be kidding me. This company is so generic it's ridiculous! Don't even start me on the culture, pay, communication, people, expectations....

Don’t forget the worst rated sales people in the industry. Lazy, sorry, entitled and flat out suck sales people at Shire.

What “ratings”? The ratings you make up in your head. Again, there is no ratings for anything you are talking about. It’s called opinion numb nuts.

You are the worst rated poster on cafe pharma. Loser

Fact: shire managed care outsourced their Medicare bidding for Xiidra to a 3rd party. So even Shire doesn’t trust its managed care team!!

At every other pharma company I’ve worked for, we would know our regional managed care point, do co-travels, work on what localized managed care plans to try to get access/ coverage on, etc. Here? It’s like reaching out to the IT help desk- you’re just going to get sent off to no mans land.

This is so true. This is the only pharma job I’ve had where I don’t have a managed care point person to contact. That’s crazy they had to outsource to a 3rd party for Medicare. That explains a lot.
