Agree HR guy. Chase is next in line. CFO to CEO is a short step.

Baxalta*, and why the hell would Baxalta reps care or want bad things to happen to Abbie?

What Pharma company is named abbie? Never heard of them. YAWN
To answer your question, Shire is tied to failed Abbvie acquisition and these Shire morons
are still angry that ABBV pulled out. It all led to Takeda takeover.
Lotta angry hot heads in NBU OBU venting on 10 boards HILARIOUS !!!

Chase is no doubt in line but so are others who have significant power base (Miles White). Don't discount his influence. Also, you are discounting the ambition of others and their capacity to reach Board members. But AbbVie should have no worries. The C-suite and the Board believe there are many qualified internal candidates...I heard one brag that we are the best managed company in the industry.

Agree this will be interesting to watch. There will be many BOHICAs that will scuttle some of the candidates, and new ones who pop up seemingly out of nowhere. My gut says it will be an outsider with minimal ties to the old boy network who will then decapitate the dead wood in leadership. One name that pops up in Dr R. Cohen from another bio tech, don't have a clue who he is though.

Agree. My main point is that this whole thread originated from the mind of a disturbed simpleton.
Ornskov would NEVER, EVER, BE CEO HERE. To even entertain this thought lowers the IQ of the whole board. White has some pull but younger corporate up and comers want this dinosaur out of our business decisions.

The OP doesn't even know how to spell Ornskov
How Fkn sad is that ?

Very SAD ! Beyond ridiculous !
The OP is a total idiot or a plant by HQ.
There is no way Ornskov would ever make it.

You have no vision. F.O. is the real deal and just the man to lead Abbvie across the Humira chasm.

This whole thread is ridiculous. You know AbbVie management would never let an outsider come in unless there was a spectacular fail and Board mandated it. They regard themselves as the best managed company in the industry so unthinkable they would extend beyond current leaders unless they went with Abbott person. Also, promises were made to some people coming over to AbbVie from Abbott so earlier posts were correct that Miles does have some influence with the Board over this. In my view, he would never let an outsider in.

The above post is a plant by apologists for the current regime. F.O. is a very viable option and we expect that the board will 'see the light' and bring in an outsider. To say that they regard themselves as the 'best managed' in pharma is utterly ridiculous, LMAO ! ! And BTW, F.O. already has a residence in Chicago and no doubt is eying these threads. I know that for a fact.

Please note that I didn't write AbbVie is the best managed company, but that its leaders think they are the best managed company. The AbbVie Board has never challenged current management and won't do so in the future. An insular culture makes an outside hire unlikely. Look at how many well qualified outside hires have left since the spin-off from Mother Abbott. Also, you ignore the fact that promises were made in the spin-off that will make it challenging to go outside for next CEO. Lastly, FO didn't make such a good impression during the attempted transaction. I am betting on a status quo hire when Rick finally hangs it up.

Insider here: F.O. is coming soon and he will expect a big boost in productivity expectations among field team rank & file. Yes he is known as a 'ballbuster / prick' but that's ok as he rewards those who deliver the bacon. Welcome aboard !
