Here my Summer Action Plan: Let’s work together to help people leave this metric driven nuthouse. What other derm companies are currently hiring? List any info you’ve got.

Dermira is hiring 125 nationally. Terrible gig.

Celgene is always hiring. Good gig but their stock is worse than ours.

Novartis has periodic opening. As dysfunctional with activity focus as us.

    Good luck.

-Vasoline - Let the healing begin
    -Clearisil
    -Botox
    -Calamine lotion
    -Avon

    This is a weird business.

It might be easier to whip up your own skincare cream and sell it out of your trunk.

don't come to Celgene. We now have to get a sign in sheet and provide and itemized receipt if we take a doc a &0.50 coffee from Circle K.

our lawyers think it's wrong to have any transfer of value to physicians and are quickly killing the sales force.

No one can make sweeping generalizations about established derm companies. Except that there is something uniquely very wrong with this Pfizer division and its hard to know out how much is the divisions leadership and how much is Pfizer thinking derm should be ran like an IM division.

70% of being happy has little to do with the company and everything to do with the direct manager. I would say the other 30% is the product/territory. For example I have friends at Novartis who love their job and one who hates it - and its all because of their direct manager. They also make a lot more than we do and have better job security because they are in biologics. I also have a friend who has been a derm rep at Celgene for years and loves it - again all because of her direct manager and good territory alignment. She admits other Celgene managers and territories wouldnt work for her.

I imagine there are even a few rare people in this division who have a territory that actually is cut to easily meet Pfizer's horrible metrics and have a good manager, like that its a part-time gig, and so they are happy.

Ain’t that the truth! You’d think at some point the actual derm people in mgmt would say “enough of this crap” but they don’t. So people will continue to leave in droves while Pfizer stands puzzled. “After all you get a free car” to quote my mgr.

If it’s indeed true that your manager makes your job the this place is in a world of hurt.

Day in the life: Wake up. Positive attitude. Get in car. Start driving to clinic. Realize I was just there 10 biz days ago. Say to self “what the hell did I get myself into”

I find this hard to believe. I would’ve left Pfizer for a Celgene caliber job in a heartbeat.

Pfizer screws up access wherever they go. Derm used to be a special place. Now every office has at least 2 Jellyjanz reps asking for the "next five". They have no self awareness and the worst thing is that they bring their DBMs into the offices! These guys kill access.

What is the turn-over? How many people do you know who have left?

So, you don't bring your DBM into your Derm offices? must be nice

Finally crossed the line today. I hate this place. It’s irredeemable. Can’t get out fast enough.

Btw above poster 8 calls won’t cut it. You’ll need 10 to keep the metric monitors off your back

    I'm done too.

Too much focus on activity and not enough of providing resources to be successful.

Best move I made was to derm division of PFE. Making the most money ever, with specialties that don't loathe traditional pharma reps. If your ready to jump ship, that means you suck at selling. Best gig ever. BTW I've been with PFE for over 23 yrs.

True, but the problem is that derm as a specialty doesn't loathe pharma reps LARGELY BECAUSE PFIZER HAS BEEN ABSENT IN THIS MARKET. Since Pfizer arrived, I've seen long term open offices greatly restrict access. Some offices have shut down altogether.

The reason: the hyper aggressive, Pfizer rep who has no emotional empathy and can't read non-verbal cues. the militaristic, mall cop Pfizer DBM who is in the office as often as the rep, demanding "starts" before lunch. the dehumanizing Pfizer business model that demands reach and frequency metrics above all else.

As a Pfizer rep, my only hope is that fewer and fewer Pfizer reps come over here.

When will Pfizer ever learn - aggressiveness does not equal long-term sales! It just creates resentment from the offices and the entire pharma community. How many times has Pfizer shut down offices? This is our reputation and legacy and a real shame for such a fine company.

You’ve been w/ Pfizer over 23 yrs?! No wonder you think this is “the best gig”. There’s whole world outside of blue. A normal sane world free from the grasp of the R&F metric and Summer Action/acceleration plans.
