Do I need an advanced degree for these positions? I have a BS in Nutrition and 2 years in pharma with successes, and I was a little shocked that I did not even receive an interview just a you’re not selected email.

You should be fine for most divisions at Abbott. Did you apply to ADC? The requirements are more robust, and the competition stiffer. You need at least a masters, but most of us are PA's, and in some cases started graduate level med school before coming to ADC. The money and hours are better than being a physician. But ADC is the best of the best at Abbott, the elite sales team. I know others are jealous and may pipe up, but it's a fact, and our VP tells us this all the time.

You should be fine then, honey. All you need is an associates degree for that. No sales experience required either. Good Luck!

I wish the ADC sales reps would stop posting, or should I say "boasting", on these boards? We all know they are in a class by themselves, and compensated far beyond the rest of us.

YES! +1! There's no need to keep bragging, but these Diabetes Care reps do that all the time. It makes the rest of us feel inferior, and inadequate. We all know they make more, get fat bonus checks, and drive imported luxury cars. They never have to worry about where the next paycheck will come from, or if they will get laid off, like the rest of us.

The Chicago position is very tough and poorly compensated. Count your lucky stars they didn't call you back. You don't want it

Yeah don't take it. I took a position and canned at 3 months. Didn't make the probation period. I was always playing around on IPad during working hours and I didn't realize they track activity on company pads. Dumb old me. Good luck !
