I like how you cowards still collect a check, probably don't work very hard, and bad-mouth the company. If it's so bad here, leave. Pussies.

You must be an example of the rot and decay referenced in the previous posts LOL.

BTW Cowards? Look who is talking - you are on here posting anonymously as well - saying people "probably don't work very hard" and then resorting to name calling.

Home office? Better yet - you're leading a team who cannot stand working for you but you kissed enough ass that you landed the role? Most people can pick you out very easily...:D

Be prepared, know the product, highlight your past sales success and have an understanding of the Challenger Sales model. Good luck in spite of the negative replies Otsuka is like a lot of other companies out there and it is up to the individual to motivate themselves to be successful. Good luck.

Good luck, we welcome those who can consistently deliver on their commitments. Otsuka has had a long history of success through the hard work and efforts of Otsuka-people.

I interviewed with an Otsuka DM who asked me for a reference from my last manager. That last manager was forced out of their job by our regional and for good reason. Unfortunately for me I got a bad reference from this DM (the direct reports were called into an investigation of the manager by legal dept and I think this manager is just seeking revenge for comments made). I have no bad reviews (exceeds and meets) but this manager is bad mouthing me and preventing me from getting work. All my other references were excellent. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND WHEN YOU DO THIS AS A MANAGER, SOMETIMES THE REFERENCE YOU SPEAK TO IS SIMPLY NOT A GOOD PERSON AND ABSOLUTELY SUCKED AS A MANAGER! PLEASE CONSIDER ALL THE OTHER REFERENCES. If you have 1 bad and 4 excellent references, why believe the one bad? Also, this tactic may put your job at risk as a hiring manager, if a candidate seeks legal recourse for defamation on the part of the old boss giving bad reference.

I would not go to Otsuka unless you are unemployed.

also interviewing with Otsuka. What is the starting salary for someone with experience? Are these PIP plans nationwide and for all reps? Or just for under performers?

take a job as dishwasher and get paper route before coming to Otsuka
The money is good but wait til you get your “bonus”... they do what they can to shaft you

If you inherit a crap territory - have bad managed care- no rep in previous territory for some time and little hospital formulary and specialty pharmacies on board?
    Guess what? It’s YOUR fault!

Read the dotted line! If you had territory 6 months you still get annual review-
If you are bottom 10% it is an auto needs improvement and likely PIP..I am NOT kidding and if you don’t believe me ask for the final list of 2017 and get in touch with the “bottom 10%” on linked in

    I bet they work elsewhere

So - if you are new- have everything stacked against you - they DONT care! It’s like probAtion period to try you before they buy you
Apparently training new people constantly is worked into their budget - making people miserable doesn’t affect performance

And really good reps - that have history of performance - are victims of narcissistic bosses - at the detriment of Otsuka - that’s why Southwest Airlines is such a “failure” .they don’t care about employees and employees hate working there!
Right! The egos here are unbelievable- worse than I’ve ever seen - and the fall of Otsuka is on them -we all know pharmacists dying - it’s only “around” because those executives need lower management and reps to keep their jobs - we all know it’s true - really? How many calls do you really make day? I don’t mean drinks to accounts - that would be 10 plus - real “calls”.
I never in a million years thought I could get rid of golden handcuffs - it is the perfect lazy big bucks job-

I have never been so liberated getting out- if you stay you are putting yourself in a bad spot - and will compete with all the other unemployed reps for regular sales jobs , teaching , whatever it may be in 5 years or less-
I am teaching - both in regular school and tutor ESL Chinese kids at my own time as much it as little I want 25-40 an hour - pension - lots of “vacation time” - summers off - benefits -
And - I teach without someone threatning a pip if they don’t like me this week
+if you pay off your bills - aren’t in over your head - you can manage fine - and have conscious
