Back to the original thread. All of these other posts are insubstantial. All that matters is that even if we were a potential takeover Target it would be the same as May of 2014. AZ is not smart enough to entertain any takeover offers. It will still go down in large pharmaceutical company history as one of the biggest mistakes made.

You under estimate the stupidity of rejecting Pfizer's offer. It goes beyond the biggest mistake in pharma history and may end up being a chapter in MBA text books as the worst decision ever in the history of business. There have been many deals that were killed by government regulation but this one died a natural death due to the incredible incompetence of our leadership.

You are seeing the failure of the Pfizer takeover through the lens of an MBA, as if the decision was made on financial grounds. This is what Americans fail to understand, its not always just about the money. The decision not to have AZ erased was clearly a political decision. Both the UK and Sweden wanted to keep such a key player in an important industry under their continued control. Smaller countries have to think this way or they would be left with nothing. The US MBA culture doesn't think that way, they would sell their mother out if the offer was good enough.

The UK, Sweden and their other socialist buddies have been milking the US Pharma industry for years. Americans have been subsidizing their drug prices with higher premiums but Trump has targeted this nonsense. The EU hates Trump simply because he is cutting off their gravy train.

Umm, the EU loves Trump, cause they know he is an easily out maneuvered buffoon they can leverage to achieve substantial economic concessions. It;s like negotiating against a 5 year old, just dangle something shiny in front of him and you can get whatever you want.

Case in point, Trump can have meetings, press conference, TV interviews, Nazi rallys, all talking about how he's going to fix healthcare, give everyone cheap, great healthcare that people will love to use and will cover everyone. Remember that pile of bullshit? And here we are years later and Obamacare is still in place. Lower drug prices? Remember that BS pitch? Yeah that didn't happen cause PHaRMA has lobbyists who can run rings around the incompetence in the White House.

All Trump is good for is getting redneck all fired up by telling them to blame Mexicans for their shitty lives. While thats enough to get you elected President in America, it doesn't make you qualified to actually do anything.

Don’t get your pussy hat all in a bunch my little socialist friend.

We endured 8 years of Obama doing nothing but PR and placating the world and your leftist brothers and sisters (however they identify).

If Trump gave so many concessions, why is there an everyday protest every time he defunds something or pulls out of a bad agreement? Nice narrative, but it doesn’t hold water.

Look at it this way, only 6 1/2 more years to go!

Just look at the record, under Obama, Russia took Crimea and invaded Ukraine, Russia set up shop in Syria and the U.S. sold 20% of its Uranium, you know the fuel for nuclear weapons, to RUSSIA. And the Russians were able to hack into the DNC server and also tap Hillary's secret unapproved server hidden in a strip mall in Colorado. The FBI, CIA, and IRS were politicized. But he did hit an all time record for people on food stamps. But Oh yes, Trump is soft on Russia. Total fake news bullshit.

Whoever mentioned that Trump is only good for is rallying the rednecks is spot on. So amazing how people can be so ignorant. This is not a red or blue issue, Trump is a disaster. I hope the Republicans can somehow get him out of there and find a better Republican candidate.

Well 46 million plus Americans voted for him. That is a hell of a lot of rednecks. The problem is that Hillary thought this way too along with the other liberal elites that think the only people who count live in the N.E. and West Coast. Guess what, those same rednecks will re-elect him in 2020 if the Dems nominate a socialist whack job like Warren or Sanders. I sure hope that they do because Trump will win in an even bigger landslide.

    Give, give, give...gimme, gimme, gimme.

The Fixing Healthcare statement was made when he thought that US taxpayers should only fund healthcare for a select minority of US citizens.

An uncomfortable truth, Obama promised that if you like your Dr. you can keep your Dr. and if you like your current health plan you can keep you current health plan." That was big lie number one. And all of that was going to be done while protecting those with pre existing conditions and also lower your annual premiums by $2500. Bigger lie number 2.
How as this going to be done? By forcing young healthy people to purchase something they didn't want or pay a big fine. How did all of that work out for you?

Great political points on both sides.

Back to OP again. I’ll say stock holders would’ve done better on the long term investment if Pfizer deal had gone through.
    AZ future looks meh.

I sold all of my shares at $84 during the Pfizer bidding war so I feel like one of the lucky ones. AZ share price may get there again but I doubt it will in my lifetime.

All of you that want Hillary to be President, or any DEM for that matter, I'll agree, IF you go to Benghazi for 1 month and have Hillary control the security for you. How dare you say she would be good for the US, she got our men killed and didn't do anything about it, among other crimes against the US. I think this discussion is disgusting and just like Obama might not have been the correct first black president, Trump may not be the right republican, but he is clearing the swamp and behind the scenes, you are all grateful. I'm good with his tactics, maybe not his rhetoric sometimes, but he is definitely helping the US gain our place in the world again.

But....Bengazi? Your boy Troy Gowdy held congressional hearings for 4 years on Bengazi and found absolutely nothing, 0 referred for criminal prosecution. Strictly a side show distraction. Bengazi was a secret CIA operation not a State department thing. They wanted to keep a low profile for the purposes of their operation.

By the way treasonous Trump did not win in a landslide, he lost by 3 over million American votes. The electoral college was only won through Russian interference in the election. Meddling in 3 states that were swung by only 70.000 votes in total did the trick, although no one wants to admit it. They continue to interfere in our elections to this day, according to Treason boys own appointed intelligence team directors, yet he still strongly denies it. That's why he will be forever known as Treasonous Trump. So unless you are a Russian troll yourself, which would make you a patriot, for Russia that is, you are Treasonous to America too, by supporting him after all of these damning facts about his collusion have already been revealed. Why does he want to end the investigations into Russian interference? Because he is guilty as sin as only he would know. He sure acts guilty too. No doubt that he should be impeached, but when will it happen?

You need to up your Seroquel dose. Most everything you wrote is fiction. Over a year and there is still no proof of collusion. Russia has meddled in elections for decades and so has the U.S. That is how large counties operate. Russian collusion is just an excuse for a sore loser and her supporters. There is a lot of fake news.

The Russians spent a grand total of $30K on fake postings that aimed at dividing us on issues like race, income inequality, gun control etc. And that did work but there is no evidence that it changed a single vote or if it did it went both ways. Compare that to Hillary who spent over $1billion, a record. The Russians don't care who is President but they do want to destroy democracy by dividing us into camps where there is no room for compromise. That has worked. As for the election, Hillary was a bad candidate with absolutely no charisma and she represented the elite political class. Trump offered a different non political type. That is why he won. But if you want to believe the Russians caused it then more power to you brother.

You are clueless, despite their claims of no collusion there is lots of solid proof of collusion through several different avenues. The SC just has not followed all of the indictments yet.

Carter Page was an initial conduit to Russia. He was under a FISA warrent so he was being surveiled as he well should have been. So early info from him.
George Papadapolous has flipped and pled guilty. He was on the transition team Trump and Pence had to know about his activities.
General Flynn, his national security advisor has flipped and pled guilty to a lesser offense. Trump and Pence had to know about his colluding too.
Devin Nunes was on the transition team, he will go down as well.

Paul Manafort had Putin choose Pence as VP. Manafort had to resign as his commections to the Kremlin were just too obvious.
The next campaign manager, Steve Bannon from Breitbart, worked with Cambridge Analytical with information from Wikileaks through the Russians funded by the Mercers to meddle in the 2016 election
Mariia Butina after consultation with her oligarch handler had Trump name Putin's pick of Tillerson for State
Mariia Butina set up more back channels to communicate with Russia
Mariaa Butina had her sponsors make very large donations to the NRA, which donated that same money to the Trump campaign.
Several GOP congressmen will be indicted soon for these and other instances of collusions.

Roger Stone and Wikileaks, just a front for Russian Intelligence. Assange will be arrested and questioned very soon, Ecuador is kicking him out of the British Embassy..

The quid pro quo for all of this is lifting of the sanctions on Russia that Obama, Hillary, and the rest of Nato put on Russia after Russia invaded Crimea and the Eastern Ukraine. Manafort, Trump and Pence had those enforcement actions taken out of the Republican platform at the Republican Convention, very odd indeed.
Trump has not enforced the new sanctions that were almost unanimously passed by congress with a veto proof bipartisan majority for election meddling.

Meeting in the Seychelles with Jared Kushner and Eric Prince was to set up back channels to communicate with Russia. SC has a flipped attendee witness. indictments will be coming. This occurred before Trump even took office so it is all highly illegal.

There is much more, I grow tired of listing all of the proven collusion activities that are already proven, I'm sure they are more too.
Eric Prince and his sister Betsy De Vos ran a server at their company that communicated with Trump Tower and Alpha Bank. NSA knows about everything.

Junior met with several Russian agents in Trump Tower to discuss "adoptions" really? SC knows what really went on in there as some have flipped. Trump then wrote a false explanation of the meeting (one count of obstruction of Justice)

Wow, you have been sleeping and eating in front of CNN. What a fucking joke this all is. First of all, collusion is not a crime and never has been. So even if Trump's people were talking with Russian contacts, that is not a crime. Do you really think that Hillary never talked to any connected Russians? Do you really believe all of this. What we do know for a fact is that Hillary paid a foreign agent to work with the Russians to dig up dirt on Trump. She then had her people release it to the Press who took it to the FBI. They also gave it to John McCain so it might look like the Republicans were involved. Those are facts. Remember that the DNC and Hillary lied for months that they had nothing to do with the Russian dossier. Now that is closer to collusion than anything they have found on Trump's campaign. All they have on Manafort is tax evasion doing back over 10 years before the election and the others for lying or misleading the FBI. How many times have Bill and Hillary lied to law enforcement over the decades?
