On a town hall conference call it was said that we would promote lyrica through LOE which would be June 2019 with the pediatric extension. Now on the restructuring email it says December. When does lyrica go generic?

Answer to all of the above:
    Start looking for another job.

Pfizer is a ‘downsizing machine’! They have perfected this into an art form. Head for cover!

Great advice. The longer you wait, the more people will be out there looking.
It’s fierce right now, and has been for several year. If you have 1-3 yrs. experience, under 30, good track record, you’ll have a chance. Others, good luck.
A good friend’s wife is a headhunter, and this came from her. She deals only with executive positions, and says the Pharma atmosphere at that level is heating up because of all the “reorganizations”.
Pharma sales is dying a quick death. All companies are starting to cut to the bone.
They know when and if they need more people they have easy pickings and the contract companies to go to.
I’m fortunate, a good friend helped me get a position with another company, but both she and I are planning to get out of Pharma asap to avoid the rush on doomsday.

Funny....I have 20 years, base in the $150’s, but a really good track record (9 trips, etc).....and I am literally getting 2 or 3 calls a month. I would say the last poster probably has limited sales success and has imagined themselves as an “educator” to her customers. This industry will always be around for those that actually understand how to SELL. The problem is many, if not most, worry about useless metrics to dictate their days.

Funny how maybe 1 rep in 10,000 has nine trips under their belt and 0 in just a 20 year span, that 1in a billion just happens to be here bragging. And any form of true SELLING has been non-compliant for well over a decade in pharma. Nobody is knocking down my door for a job and I've averaged a top 25% ranking for over 15 years and won a few "trips". Especially if you're a male, the cards are so stacked against you it's actually illegal. Just be aware of the truth. Good luck.

Why are people so mean to each other on this site? The truly mean spirited back and forth here is just stupid. I’m competitive too, but something is wrong with you people.

Historically, layoffs happen at Christmas. Can’t let an LOE date get in the way of that.

Calls from whom, headhunters who call every rep they can find?
You’re full of crap. Reps are a dime a dozen, most are good reps. You may think you’re in demand, but Imseriously doubt it. Besides, who’s hiring? Most companies are laying off.
    Legend in your own mind.

What's funny is that you think you actually "sell"! Maybe 20-25 years ago you "sold". With managed care driving the business with formularies, smiley faces or green, yellow, red lights loaded in the computer programs when doctors hit the prescription screen, not to mention prior auths generic first protocols- you can "sell" till your blue in the face it don't mean squat!! Formularies and Medicaid coverage drives business ( in some territories just Medicaid). If you think you're the driver of the scripts you're either ignorant, arrogantly pompous or a combination of both. Now get out there and sell, sell, sell.

Stay for your severance especially if you have a lot of years in. You will be more relaxed to look and until then get your resume in shape, enjoy your car and benefits. Depending upon your age you may be forced to change your career path, go to school, etc. The truth is pharma companies are downsizing for a myriad of reasons. Embrace the change; it will strengthen your life and force you out of a complacent, boring, existence.
