We are doomed when a leader tries to surround himself with buddies regardless of qualification.

If that's his intent, his next move needs to be cutting his BFF TM.

Sounds like a whole lot of people will be affected in next 3 years.

BFFs and other favorite pet engineers must be near bottom of his chopping list. Rif is good opportunity to get rid of others by placing them on projects to be cut. Empire building continues...

He has lost a lot of respect around the organization. He protected a number of middle management titles that should have been let go. You kiss mine, I'll kiss yours.

Favoritism at its worst. Unfortunate for true talents who do not kiss up to him. Bad for MDT. Ultimate loss for share holders.

Hatchet man TC lays off a bunch of white, male engineers in their 40's and over and communicates to his organization he cut more heads than corporate wanted. Then, he communicates a reorg he has no clue how to implement, that months later, he still has no plan or direction on. Why hasn't DK and CS not cut him loose?

Dude. TC has it all under control. Design teams are creating more multiaxial screws. Stay tuned.

To keep your high pay job, you must show you exceeded expectations somewhere to make up for your clueless on how to lead. Possible that the extra savings may lead to bigger bonus, so why not? Fortunately, most other spinal companies are without such an R&D leader and continue to grow and hire. To grow and lead the market, they continuously put out many great products instead of just tweaking mutiaxial screws. RIF will save money in the near term. Replacing poor leadership will turn a business around.

tc is taking an unfair share of the blame here

I get it that is (taking blame) part of the VP game but he doesn’t control the funding corporate identifies but corporate take the profit and puts to higher growth businesses. I know we are all looking for a scape goat but this guy isn’t it he has done a good job in trying times

That explains why our much smaller competitors are passing left and right on new and cool product launches.

No it doesn’t. It’s starts with the lack of funding for new products. The outcomes are cuts to new products and people. Raise your forecast and go win with what’s in your bag so growth is visible. The current path you are on results in continued cuts and no products for years.

Any update? Surgeons are desperately waiting for another multiaxial screw.
