Have a stable current position, but received a call on this today. The ALS space seems interesting but the payer status info I can find as well as the efficacy data I see online looks mediocre. Can anyone give me a true taste of what it's like in the field? Would truly appreciate it.

Drug doesn’t work! It’s garbage and provides nothing but false hope for patients.

I think the company may be practicing age discrimination in hiring for this division. I am an older rep with a good resume that matches qualifications. I never even received a call.

Have any other older reps experienced this? I wouldn't mind suing the dogshit out of them if they are excluding older reps.

in the same boat as you, have 28 years experience, 4x presidents club winner, 15 years in Neuro and no call, seems a lot of companies are practicing this, on a recent interview had manager ask when i was thinking of retiring. just have to keep pushing on and find the right job where experience is an asset, good luck

Got a call for an interview as well. 15 plus years experience in all areas. I am pushing 50, not sure about the age discrimination. I'm more concerned that I cant find much employee info on this company.

I interviewed. Made it to the finals. Mid 40s. I really liked the hiring manager. The NSD is an arrogant tool so I declined.

Very uptight company, scared of their shadow. No money to made here, no equity, crappy culture, BIG PHARMA. They pretty much suck at Rare Disease, don't know what they are doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are many reps over the age of 50 at the company. There is NO age discrimination at the company. Perhaps you just weren't what they were looking for.....

The company is admittedly conservative. It's a Japanese company and the Japanese culture is conservative. That being said there is money to be made, you just have to be willing to ride the wave of a new company that is figuring things out as they go along. If you aren't willing to do that this isn't the right fit for you. They are building a great culture and always ask for feedback from everyone within the organization. This is a disease state with many unknowns..... again if you aren't willing to ride the wave to see where the opportunity can take you then this isn't a good fit for you. Positive attitudes need only apply!

So unethical. This drug doesn’t slow disease progression. Patients are being sold snake oil with high hopes. It’s very sad.

anecdotal...my brother passed away one year after diagnosis despite being on this dog drug. Was given a lot of hope by the local sales rep who the doc brought in to speak to us. This drug did nothing for him.

No one claimed it was a cure and it doesn't slow the disease down in everyone- wish it would but it doesn't. No drug does. Your brother was given a death sentence upon diagnosis unfortunately the only therapy approved didn't slow down the progression. But just because the drug did nothing for him doesn't mean it won't do something for someone else.

    run. do not walk.
more employee lawsuits pending than actual number of employees employed

Aside from the gloom and doom, what are benefits like? 401k? Car or allowance?

    Thanks.

Benefits are above average, 401k is ok but nothing special, company car. If you're in the field in a sales position you will be expected to sell and some people seem to have issues with that.

Whoever this is, you don't understand Rare Disease, you don't try and close Neuro Muscular Specialist like a used car salesman, and the crap data won't help. This company does like 10% of what it should be doing to develop and drive the business, and then sits around and wonders what the heck is happening and why sales aren't rolling in. Complete incompetence initiated by Inventive, Poor Leadership with no vision or understanding of rare disease, Joe is the only bright spot so far, but time will tell. Every single person in their leadership team had NEVER done rare disease before, and won't listen to anyone who has, sad.

This commentary is absolutely amazing. Get over yourself. So rare disease doesn't involve networking with ALS centers, nurses, case managers, etc? If you've reached the rare disease pinnacle in your career, you don't have to do any of these things? This was, and still is, a start-up organization. It just so happens to be a well funded start-up. There has been ZERO sense of urgency, because there hasn't been a start-up mentality to begin with . Major changes are in store. Funny you made the comment about JS. Careful what you wish for - He is looking for sales people and sales leaders. Not rare disease specialists. People who actually do the grass roots things it takes to get a product moving, and with a sense of urgency. Both internally and externally.

I am lost at this. Have not met anyone that could be classified as a rare disease specialist. Not anyone with minimal knowledge, about disease, specialty biologics, or even sales knowledge. Have not witnessed any skills in building relationships by the NASs with staff.

Totally not seeing this as a well-funded start up, either. Highly-bothched, for sure, but money?

Lack of urgency is dead on

Please bring on the major changes because those have been a long time coming. Hopefully they are actual changes and not minimal shifts that accomplish nothing
