We’re hearing a split is coming to the bag. Power away from Neptune. Sounds like it’s time to call the recruiters.

    Whats everyone think?

Splits coming at your mid year meeting. And you won’t get an option as to which division you get rolled into. Surgical or Surgical Safety.

Could be good or bad. Depends on where you are in your career.

Why the hell would they do that??

This has to result in a massive paycut for many reps- especially their longest tenured and best reps. What is purpose in doing this?

Many of their longest tenured reps are their worst reps. It’s about time they shook things up...

Sure, go work for another company where the recruiter on Medreps sells you “average rep makes $250k! Top rep $500k,” only to find out the average rep makes $150k-$200k with a bitch load of call reports and micromanagement out the ass.

Sure, some reps completely got crushed on the comp plan but they have been gross over paid for a damn long time while maintaining complete autonomy. I hate to be the guy who brings people back down to reality but making $400k while not having a boss call you daily for activity reports, weekly reports, spending 2 hours a day at home after you’ve been pounding the pavement is still a damn good life and a damn good job.

For those saying they are going to leave, have fun at whatever medical company you go to, I can guarantee that even if you somehow make more the quality of life will blow more dick than Stormy Daniels.

How much revenue/income does Neptune produce in an average territory?

100% will slash our income. This split will make Stryker Surgical your typical 120k at plan with corporate card for business expenses only...long the days of $350k. Maybe they’ll have a pay structure where senior/tenured reps will be compensated more???

However, this makes sense from the top down, sucks for us but we all know what they are doing. More feet on the street, better relationships in accounts, and building a better defense to fend off the comp. My one hope is that quotas will become much more feasible and the job won’t be as cut throat/demanding. Work life balance might be worth the dialed in, micro account management approach. And hey, less products to focus on... Only time will tell...

was the split literally 50/50, in terms of salesforce? Like 125ish reps each?

Which side of the split is better moving forward? Power or Safety?

Not trying to be a hater here but welcome to reality. You all have the best products in the space and a monkey could sell them. You all should feel lucky they compensated the way they did for as long as they did. If you think you are that good of a sales leader, go try to do it somewhere else and see what outside of surgical is like.
