2nd week of Oct, CC merged with Vaccines with Vaccine reps taking most spots. J/J-Steg reps halved for mature products LCM. 1/19' no more Insomnia/Resp. Takes effect 1-19'.

Field remote positions sourced external or in house [MAD,NAE,Gov't] except lobbyists.

Chronic care reps have a 30% chance of placement. Make over 126k? You are done, this is Riads choice.

What CC Rep makes over $126 base? Nobody. That's the cap.

Better ask your manager. 126 grand is the cap for pension modeling within the CC band level. Many CC reps with 20 or more years in are easily in the 130's if not 140's. Find the ole timers in your district, buy them a cup of jo and get the skinny. This money over 126 is given as an annual "gross up" check.

Big layoffs. Don’t bother updating your resume. We all know vaccine reps are lazy and waiting for their pension. So hard to call on Ped’s. No transfer of skills. Pill reps will be replaced by millennials willing to take 60k but want a participation award. Why are you staying at a toxic co?

How many reps are needed to sell vaccines? Really, for that matter, how many are needed to sell what Merck has left?

It would make too much sense to outsource some of the highly overpaid Account Exec positions....therefore it won’t happen

Bingo! Pharma “ sales” will soon become like “Enterprise” reps.

No one knows when and anyone who does would not be posting on cafe pharma.

Merck is notorious for laying off right before Xmas. Its their own special way to F@#& you over. How many people are even left at this shi$ co?

What is left in chronic care is a bunch of washed up caterers in their 40's and 50's. Overpaid and underskilled, they know they don't have the skills, drive and talent to make it outside of mama. In 3 weeks be prepared for the real world: interviews, no pension, minimal vacation, half your salary and cut overnight if you don't perform. Imagine going to training with 20 year olds, imagine geographies with 3 overnights per week. This is what you are up against if you try to stay in pharma after Merck. Also be prepared to work for a no name company as the hot companies simply don't hire pc Merck caterers. Yes a few fallen soldiers have landed at the sought after companies but I can count those on one hand. Tic toc, 3 weeks.

There are way to many nonproductive employees in this great company. That will be corrected in just over a week.

Getting out of there was the best thing to ever happen to me. No more conference calls, no more "one upping" one another to impress a manager that doesn't know one orifice from the other, dealing with a Regional Manager that cares only about profit & loss, re-focus meetings for a sleep product that every doctor considers a joke, and generally, all of the fake people in the industry that associate with one another only to benefit themselves.

Yep, you got it. Can’t complain about the money and benes, but it’s become a soul- sucking mundane, boring job. All I ask is a decent severance.

Any friends at HQ have info on date of the big call to announce layoffs and give the WARN notice? You called it correctly last year.

I have heard that early fourth quarter an announcement will be made. This is most likely going to effect both primary care bags along with vaccines

The new structure hasn’t even been in place for a full year yet. Also, company knew last what it has to sell and the downsizing planned for that. I would be surprised if they did another round so soon. I think they will keep two reps per territory for at least two more years to max Januvia sales. Also, I left last round, so I don’t care either way. Just speculation.
