All collagens are good for wounds as long as there is no hypersensitivity to the source molecule. Porcine, as is bovine, can be an issue if not tested for prior to use. The difference is in the details. What makes Acell different from the cheaper collagens like Stimulin, who also has a gel form where Acell does not to my knowledge. Then there is an immediately active collagen that allow the body to utilize very quickly to form granulation tissue caled Cellerate. Neither have a graft and the Acell graft is a beneficial barrier but the reimbursement just changed on it so that will be interesting to see how that evolves. The science is facinating but the results vary amoung products. It is an evolving market obviously though.

The above poster thinks that they know a lot, but some of the small things they said make their entire post sound retarded.

So accurate. This guy is an idiot. Acell is fucking terrible. Literally it’s a biproduct meant for hernia repair that didn’t sell enough so they entered the wound care space. Go look at the acell wiki page where it claims that it will regrow a finger. These reps are brainwashed. Fucking hilarious.

So true, I just left Acell due to horrinke culture, the product is terrible it doesn’t work, and my manager would blatantly have his reps make delusional and false claims that ultimately resulted in loss of trust and respect in the market. Best bet is to sell in hernia cuz it’ll get slaughtered in wounds for any surgeon has half a brain. But hey maybe your surgeons are just as brainwashed.

So cowboy's invitation to involuntarily explore other career options hasn't made much of a dent in the company's culture woes? shocker.
