Anyone see the Ammon Labs & Ammon Foundation Charity scam? Ammon set up a 501c non-profit to give out scholarships to people in recovery. I hear they use it for different reasons. Can anyone say illegal?

Tried to look up OIG Advisory Opinion on this about 2 months ago and found nothing. This lab gets about 60% of its revenue from medicare and medicaid in multiple states. This lab has always had a reputation for being shady. Tough to compete down here in Florida if they use a charity to get work. The feds should investigate!

Who the hell is Ammon? Another small tox lab doing illegal things? Let me guess, Russian or Pakistani owned?

Nope. Owned by white dude and his 2 white sons. Rumor is they paid over $200k to a drug program in of NJ to sponsor charity events. Program is worth about $2m in tox testing. Portion of this was paid by the charity wing. Crazy!

I know the compliance officer, I just don’t believe the BS you are saying.

Everything, everyone does is bad and wrong, and non compliant and only quest is compliant.

There are labs that try to do the right thing.

Stop - if you have facts call the lab and tell them. Let them investigate.

I don't work for Quest jackass. Call the lab and have them investigate? It is the lab that run's the charity! The compliance guy is the one who signed off on this! Stop the BS and show me the OIG Advisory Opinion. Oh wait, you can't show it, because they never requested one. They got the compliance guy to give them a legal opinion and took it. If it is legal, how come other labs don't follow suit? Why don't Quest and Labcorp have charity wings? Why didn't the king of scams, Bio-Reference do this? Why didn't the most corrupt lab in the history of the USA, Millenium do this? I can keep naming other labs both legitimate and suspect if you would like? No other lab has done this period!

I have had 3 attorney friends look over this issue and all 3 said this is a new one and that it is illegal. One even said he was going to refer this to a friend at the FBI. If everything I said is BS, why don't you call the lab and ask them yourself. They will say the same thing I was told- "We ran it by an attorney and he said OK." Everyone knows the only person to run this by is the OIG when federal money is at stake. This is not legal and everyone in the lab industry knows it, even the Haupts!

I stand by everything I have written. If they get the OIG opinion and I am proven wrong, I will apologize publicly and reveal my name. Until i see that opinion I will continue to speak about about this and other scams in the lab industry. The only way to stop the assault on our industry is to call out the shady labs and there illegal activity.

I sell in New England Region. This lab is all over the place with their charity foundation. It is the only reason they get work. This is a new low for the lab industry!

Your are correct. They give to research and patients for help. They do not give to employees of clients or give directly to clients like Ammon. Also here is what is listed on Quests website: "The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) with its own governance and management structure, and is entirely independent of diagnostics services and commercial holdings." Ammon Labs and Ammon Foundation are intertwined and Ammon uses the Ammon Foundation to get business. Quest and Labcorp do not. That is a key difference. The Ammon Scam is alive and well!

Rumor on the street is this lab is in trouble. Heard they owe NJ Medicaid over $3 million from their last audit. This lab is probably only a $12 million lab. They owe 1/4 of their revenue to NJ. Not good!

Lab is very solid and ethical. They have one of the best compliance officers in the industry and they are big on helping people in the addiction space. The company has been in business for 20 years and is well respected. Haters need to stop slandering the company and worry about their own business before Ammon takes it.

Do you see any criminal or civil charges? No you don’t! It’s was a issue that was most definitely not due to any unethical practices. Happens all the time with labs, Pharma companies and physicians. Stop hating and get a life.

They settled with the NJ so NJ could get their money. Once the payment is repaid I guarantee Ammon sells or loses their NJ Medicaid certification. They were caught up coding to tier 2 & tier 3 confirmation codes, when they should have billed tier 1. I know this can happen, but no on 66 out of 100 orders looked at! Up coding should never happen, period! I am hating on this lab, because once one lab does illegal shit, then insurers go after the entire lab industry. Everyone should be pissed at Ammon for this. Also I know how Ammon sells to clients and have seen their test requisition, they steer clients to order more tests than are necessary and that was sited in the audit!

Thanks for your insight Tom from Supreme but you are way out of your league.

Sorry not Tom from Supreme. Just a knowledgeable competitor that is very familiar with Ammon's audit and payback. They were lucky to stay open and the owner & his family are running scared!

Amzy Awad is going to Ammon Labs out of Linden. Ammon has charity kickback scam going where they pay off drug treatments through their foundation, by giving free education services to the drug addicts and free CEU credits to the counselors and then get the work. Awad will fit right in! Some one should call the feds on Awad and Ammon!
