You realize they have only been implanting for 2 years. X plant data will be minimal at this point, and most arent reporting. Whether its physician not notifying rep or rep not reporting. But I assure you there are far more X plants that are occuring without being reported.

Explant rate is low. Remarkably low. It is a great device thanks to some brilliant engineering. Particularly the stim ASIC. Yes perpipherals are crap but the IPG is not. Thanks in part to their excellent design and also the thoroughness of the testing it undergoes before packaging.

What data do you have for that, homes? Let me see get a copy of that white paper or that post market surveillance report.

Word. I'm sure you're choking on some 'fidelity and cleanliness of the ASIC signal' kool-aid as it goes down the wrong pipe, but I agree those folks in the Cleveland office that designed the IPG were some talented nerds. My guess is they all landed great jobs when Greatbatch closed that facility.

perpipherals? You must work for Abbott Neuromod. peripherals. Test engineering is still cooking with gas. "Revisions to the IPG test system software to improve system reliability and align with device performance specifications" approved by FDA 24MAY2017 via P130028 S017.

Don't kind yourself on testing though. All med device manufacturers of consequence 100% electrically test their ASICs - most test at the wafer label before they're even sent to the packaging house. Then they test again after the ASICs are assembled on the board. Then they test them again at the IPG level. Typically there's stressing at the ASIC level too usually by running under load at elevated temperature.
