What did your DM give you for Xmas this year? Why such a variation from DM to DM.

We turned the tables on our prize of a mgr. Did the same in his name and took the tax deduction.
Always possed me off to give him a gift for getting great bonuses on our performance, which he had nothing to do with. He owed us a hell of a lot more than we owed him....and remember, your manager gets reimbursed for his/ her gifts AND party. Total bullshit.
The reality is that very few want to go to a district party or want some phony gift from a DM
No one wants to play “ Secret Santa” with their “ colleagues”. Merry Christmas....hahaha.

Really? You're whining about having money donated to the needy? You'd "rather" the needy get nothing? What a peach.

Just because it's a 501c3 doesn't make it "needy". Usually they are solely GREEDY.

Also, I don't want something donated in my name to a cause I disrespect or despise.

Shouldn't I be the one to determine who I give to? Did he really give something or was it just BS. There is soooo much wrong being a boss and doing this it's not even funny. BTW-this person was known to be a cheap SOB so don't think he was being charitable-he was just being cheap!! Please don't be sanctimonious and preach to me about being charitable. If you do, you're as much an a**hole as the idiot who gave this gift.

You are an idiot if you equate donating to charity with giving a Christmas gift. This isn't a funeral where relatives ask for donations to a specific charity instead of flowers. BTW-the thread is "what did your boss get you for Christmas". The answer for this person could have just as easily been-"nothing". Which is exactly what they got!

last pharma company I was at, there were no gifts and no parties. Would I enjoy a gift of a donation under my name? Maybe if I could choose. Without the choice it’s a bit meaningless on a personal level

Are you people kidding. My manager demands we each donate for a large gift for them. They also demand that each of buy an individual gift worth at least 100. They don't even send us a Christmas card.

As we all pitched in to get DBM nice gift, she got us nothing, second year in a row. I don't expect anything but it would be nice that you are thought of. Instead we got how we need to increase our numbers and not leave any of her possible money on the table. Found out that she took her two favorite (kiss butt) reps out to lunch while everyone else was off for the holidays.

Not even any ace points? Plus gifts from managers are reimbursed? But she does nothing? Ridiculous

Yeah, she does. She pockets her gift money.

I’d tell your DM to go to hell.
I don’t attend the parties because I’m a single mom with 2 kids and can’t find or afford a sitter. Works every time for the past 6 yrs.
She and most of my “ colleagues” are the last people I want to spend time with, much less buy one a gift, and her hubby is steal gem. I hear he gets “ handsy” with the ladies when he gets a few drinks in him. Married to her, can’t blame him.

Gifts are not reimbursed, it’s a personal choice and is funded entirely by the individual. We get plenty....worry about something else. One of the greatest jobs out there. Keep the trinkets, I’m good.

That’s the point dip shit. Keep your gifts, keep your steaks, keep your hotel rooms, keep your star bucks gift cards. We don’t want your bullshit. Your reps want HR to eliminate all gifting at all levels so more of us can keep our jobs.

Save your money and put it in a Go Fund Me account for Pfizer employees who lose their jobs. Stop wasting the money we all bring into Pfizer.

Managers, who among you have the balls to step up and say NO to Xmas gifts from your reps?

Then again, Pfizer does have a policy pertaining to Xmas gifts. Your not supposed to be giving them. Your fired.

Your entitlement is petty and appalling— a gift is a gift and you should grow the F up and say thank you.

If you had half of a sales brain, you would know the charities your boss is into - and unless that charity was against your principles, would have cheered her or him on. So, you suck.

If you don't know your boss's charity preferences and those charities aren't against your preferences, you are a loooooooser

Is this really a gift?? I really don't need a gift from my boss, especially a donation in my name. As far as the post about knowing what charity my bosses supports.....I really don't care. I support who I want to support (as well as all district members support theirs) and he can support his. Let's stop the gift giving donation nonsense. It's probably less than 1% of DMs who would do this (probably the one supporting the practice on this thread). One other thing-say "Thank you"...really. I don't think so.
