If you dont fit DA's mold for inside sales be prepared to get managed out. At the end of the day everyone is focused on thier own personal gain and will not have your back when needed. Challenging the system or standing up against incompetent field sales representatives will quickly get you ushered out the side door.

Most posts of this trend is from years ago. How's leadership now? I was contacted for interview for field sales Medtronic Diabetes next week. Who has better odds? MDT inside sales or someone outside of Medtronic with years of medical/pharma exp?

It's rare that a DTA (inside rep) will get promoted to a TM.

True although it has happened. Usually an expansion territory though that comes with a smaller base salary/compensation that requires certain metrics to be hit to turn into a full-fledge TM role.

What happened to this thread? Division is being poorly managed. Can't believe that the guy at the top wants to make the diabetes division the envy of all med device. The way he's going he's going to be lucky to have any good people left. Unless changes are made at the top don't expect a superior new product to overcome a bad environment. He's going to torpedo the entire division. Goals way too high.

I'm seeing several Diabetes Sales Rep positions pop up, and I'm considering putting my name in the hat. Anyone have any experience or know what's going on with that division? It almost looks like that area is expanding to new territories, but it says it's all commission based which makes me nervous. Thoughts?

That's a professional CGM rep position. Full commission with the third best product in the space. Recipe for disaster.

Hello. Thinking of applying for the diabetes clinical manager position in my area. What can I expect? I have heard some negative things on this board but curious if anything has changed recently. Is there a work life balance? Apparently, this is a new position in my city.

The entire division is a complete mess. This is a division with weak management and worse strategic direction. It's obvious the people calling the shots don't understand the business.

What are they paying typical diabetes TMs at plan? Is there much of a bump in at plan comp if you have the senior TM designation?

Things are worse today. Management is absent and clueless. Such a shame because the product is good.

    Patients, people, profits, NOT!

Profits getting in the way of running a responsible business. San Antonio is the worst mess ever.

Profit, profit, profit. Patients being taken care of by the people in the field. Those people are going taken advantage of. More people will leave. There's always going to be a sucker.

can't believe this tread is still going, started it back in September of 2009 after a super successful career with Medtronic Diabetes but left because felt Senior Management leadership under MG suffered and reps were just not appreciated. Its too bad things just haven't changed even after almost 10 years, too bad, great product but they simply can't get there head out of there ass!!
