Medtronic trying to reduce field footprint through voluntary attrition. Setting goals so high to not have to compensate its employees. Dirty business practice.
It's only dirty if you're smart enough to see it and dumb enough to stick around. Low comp will be the "prize" for those who stick around.
Good companies create a culture that attracts and retains good people. Medtronic’s culture does the opposite. Reputation only gets you so far. What have you done for me lately?
MDT caters to shareholders and the stock market. Big blue doesn’t care about you as you are merely a means to an end!
Everybody knows this and all of the culture circle jerks in the world aren't going to change it. Until the employees are better regarded, and compensated, the downward spiral will continue. By the time it impacts revenue and earnings, and upper management takes notice, the damage will take years to undo.
Unless the people who are generating the revenue on the front lines are being paid to fight and grow the business, all the strategy work done in a boardroom won’t matter. The business will feel that impact and Wall St. will see those results, or lack thereof. The company is in a precarious position. The “Mission” that was once a driving force within the company, is and has been a figment of people’s imagination, for some time. Bad culture and deteriorating compensation is diluting the quality of the employee(s). Good people have left and will be leaving at an increasing pace.
