This all such a sad joke and so predictable. It starts with the fact that the sales data is bogus, territory sales quotas are bogus, and winning or losing in this lottery is a dart toss at best. Nobody is actually selling anything with the exception of maybe one or two physicians they have in their pocket, the rest is all fake calls and a shell game with bonuses and contests. If you stick around long enough you will win a few eventually and then you will lose big, fall into the bottom 10% and get shown the door.

It really is sad, isn’t it. And it doesn’t have to be this way. Unfortunately the company has built this culture over the past few years. Sad that the way to win is to now try to cheat the company as badly as they cheat reps ... they cheat us on our goals and payouts, cheat us out of promotions, and we cheat them through fake calls, crap like this thread and making the ‘’metrics” what they ask for. It’s so sad.

Does anyone know of another big pharma company tho who DOES NOT operate this way? One that actually has a great culture?????? or is the whole industry this miserable

It is literally the entire Industry. Just read other boards or talk to other Reps.....All of it is a sham.

Yes the same at all pharmaceutical companies. We cheat them, and they cheat us. It’s the new norm, but it’s been going on for several decades. Just be sure you cross your T’s and dot your I’s. What’s bad is that we cheat the patients as well By charging exorbitant prices for our me too drugs. But, that’s just the way things are. Join the rest of us in our cheating and lying ways, and live a happier life. Steal just a little along the way. Ride this train as long as you can.

You are spot on! This whole industry is pathetic. What I find to be hilarious how is how the shining stars tell lies about how they making a difference and the best practices they share to grow the business. Like another poster, said we just need ride this wagon until the wheels fall off and continue to live our everyday lie.

Until AZ changes the culture...we will always have underhanded business happening in territories. I bet the managers and CBDs are aware of what’s going down because otherwise everyone pockets would be affected.

Exactly, our goals are being cooked up right now. They are running all different simulations to see which sales data will maximize the company profit margins and once again, many will get screwed and a few will labeled the elite.

The next door will be shown to the bottom 20% in April. This is AZ new way of “trimming the fat.”

Leadership knows that 90% of all calls are fake. They know that sales has very little to do with a rep's efforts. They know the data is skewed and unreliable. They don't care and won't change because they need a big sales force to justify their existence. Without us there would be no NSDs, EBDs, ASDs, RSDs, DSMs, ..... get it? Everyone is pretending to do things to impact sales but it is all a sham. Responding to and passing on worthless e-mails, planning, conducting and attending worthless sales meetings, stupid teleconferences where it is the only activity for the day. It only gets worse the higher up you go until you reach a point where everyone is faking shit and dancing in line for the entertainment of a very few who also pretend that they are really important people.

The underhanded business practice is all by design at AZ. Don't you think they know what we do to drive sales? It's all done with a nod and a wink by upper management until you get caught. Then you become the sacrificial cautionary tale they need to show AZ is aligned with the PHrMA code. It's a risk we take but the end result is the same. Get fired for poor ethics or get fired for poor performance. I believe i'm smart enough to skirt past the red flags and illustrate my worth as a good performer i.e. making sure my high deciles are getting their "peer programs " on a regular basis. vouchers for family and fiends, meeting docs for lunch outside
of office and telling waiter/ waitress to put "to go" on the receipt....
