    never. AZ lawyers are all over this. Payoffs are being made as i type. Its business as usual.

    Generic companies do this all the time. Helps them get first call when it goes off patent. If they get it they will have it for 6 months all to themselves before other lazy companies can make it. Won’t happen until the patent expires.

    Patent expires next year. 1 year to promote this product at best. What's in the pipeline?

    New indications will extend the patent life.

    New indications do not extend the usable patent life. When the main patent on the molecule expires a generic can and will launch for the original indication. For example there are many patents still in valid for Nexium and Crestor and Seroquel. Do the math.
