It is happening....any honest manager could validate it. They are encouraged to only hire young "diverse" employees anytime there is an opening. It would be interesting if Lilly has to produce the number of sales openings in the last 24 months and then show the demographics on who they have hired. They have even selected outside "diverse" candidates and young students with NO experience over white, older, experienced internal candidates. It is so happening....I think Lilly may have hit its female quota so it doesn't help to be a white woman either.

talent doesn't matter....only age and skin color at the Dave Ricks Lilly.

Pharma rep is good first 'real' job for younger applicants...Let's face it this job is nowhere near where it was 20 years ago...we're just a walking talking ad that lasts maybe 20 seconds...Good luck with age discrimination lawsuits....any major company has their legal teams researching this topic all the time....no we didn't want to hire you because, "your over qualified, you'd be taking salary reduction, your not exact fit, etc.." its about money, not age color, sex ...

Was a DSM at Lilly and was pushed out with the Ricks first VERP, very obvious they changed district lines to make it happen, kept a younger inexperienced female. Have the original and redrawn district lines showing the change. Every DSM role applied to was filled by no experience, i.e lower cost. I had been part of HR meetings for years pushing need to hire younger candidates and being chastised if a Caucasian candidate was even considered. If your white male get trained and get out your not wanted. Respect for People LOL.

Ironic. Biden is 78 and appears half senile at times and now he's president elect, while 40 or 50 is too old for Lilly. Yes Lilly is all about favoring younger people just like all the others they favor (race, foreign nationals, sexual disorientation, family connections). how about favoring people who can do the job and drop all the nonsensical criteria?

Lilly has been doing this the last couple of years. If you look around, many of the tenured Reps have been terminated by finding some bogus reason to terminate them. The only people getting promoted who are in their 40s are in a minority group. And here and there they will hire someone a little older to fill in gaps and make it look like they are balanced with ave groups.
