New CIO will be an external candidate

No doubt the new CIO will be external. J&J's leadership is comprised of mostly white males and they desperately need to change that dynamic. Hopefully, the G&Os to recruit and higher >50% diversity candidates extends to the CIO level. The last thing we need here is another old white male!!!

Agree totally! As an Asian female working in Janssen R&D BUIT, I feel my interests are not represented by the current leadership. I'l be leaving the company if we hire or appoint another white male in the CIO role. I do not support what this represents since the majority of IT talent is Asian!

Headhunters are already externally contacting key Male CIO’s to gauge their interest in JNJ.

    The beat goes on!

Duh, that's why LJ has the inside track.

Having Rowena as the CTO make you happy?

The next CIO will not be LJ even if he is the most qualified for the job. J&J has fully committed to diversity and inclusion and as such, the new CIO will not be white male. Look for an external Asian candidate, most likely of Indian origin to be the next CIO.

Uh, the last I looked, LJ is not a white male.

    Get with the program, man.

first off, LJ is not a white man, Secondly, even with the commitment to diversity, why not bring in the most qualified candidate. period. Seems to be a bit discriminatory to focus on a 'Asian, most likely of Indian origin' thereby excluding any other potential qualified candidate.. I say this as a Asian women

Unfortunately, the best qualified are often shut out by D&I. For instance, I am aware of a manager and a director both in consumer IT who did not meet GPA requirements and / or degree requirements.

3.0 GPA required for white US citizens who want IT jobs in Consumer
2.7 GPS will get you hired if you are from Bangladesh -- go figure!

Life is not fair and the next Laverne will be hired very soon. Get ready!

Just find the best we can. Issue will be getting the best to want to actually come.
