Just heard from inside source that the executive team was able to get funding to start the process of going direct. They are starting in high revenue areas and working to small ones.

You need to give more detailed information. This would cost Colson millions of dollars and they just released all the clinical specialist due to profitability. How are they going to get all the money required o take territories direct? The executive team also slashed the education budgets for the RMs by 60 percent. This makes no sense to me and I think you are wrong.

Clinical specialists and education is a waste of money. There is no reason to waste money on people that are not doing anything other than flying around on Acumed tab. Education budget is a joke and we all know it. My guess is that’s to make room for a new sales training team and then they will start to direct hire.

Job posting on LinkedIn for direct Chicago rep that has the ability to hire independents. Bizarre role, but it has begun.

It’s starting. This is just the beginning. If these areas show growth and success they will eventually be in all markets.

Another big reason that many companies build out a sales force and go direct is to get the financials in order. In turn to possiblly sell the company in the near future.

Long time coming. With the lack of new products and the talent level of distributors, this company needs to go direct. At least that way they can better align w osteomed and possibly make something of these colson companies.

Acumed just got their funding. Hidden inside the bill to open the government back up was a 2 year suspension on the medical device tax. That is a big big deal. This may just be what they were anticipating. But that giving the new girl a lot of credit that she probably isn’t due.

this decision will probably and hopefully save acumed.. i see no room for distributors anymore.we can save money by hiring good reps then invest into new product by cutting out the principals. all they do is sit on their asses anyway
